Elysian Wish (Kenja no Mago x OC)

Prologue

"If it weren't for you none of this would have happened!"

"But I did it for you!"

"As if you know anything!"

"No!" Miyake screamed, cold sweat running down his forehead

"Huh?" He looked around noticing that he was in his room "So it was all a dream"

Shaking off the thought he got up, and went to the bathroom to wash his face "Haven't gotten that dream in a while," 

He put on his training shoes as well as a suitable outfit and made his way outside, locking the door behind him

"Good morning, Miyake" A lady, supporting herself with a cane greeted him

"Good morning, Mrs. Helen" He greeted his next-door neighbor "Are you going to the supermarket?"

"That I am. Are you going for your morning run? You never miss a day do you?"

"I try to be consistent as much as I can" Miyake chuckled

"Good, good. I wish I could accompany you but this old body can't do the things it used to"

"Oh don't be like that, I bet that you were a star during your early days"

"I wouldn't say that" She replied looking away from the boy "I won't hold you up since I know you have work afterward"

"Unfortunately" He sighed "Call me whenever you need help with your furniture"

"I will, I will. Now off you go young man"

"Have a nice day." He said walking away from his neighbor

"You too" She watched as his silhouette disappeared behind a corner

While running a sweet smell hit Miyake with a wave of nostalgia. "I guess I should make pancakes," A small smile appeared on his face. After taking a shower Miyake started making the pancakes but got interrupted by a phone call. A familiar name flashed on the screen, Shin Hiroyuki, Miyake's coworker, and a good friend

"Good morning" 

"Good morning, did you sleep well?"

"Yeah, I'm guessing you already took that morning run of yours?"

"You already know it"

"I don't know how you do it. Waking up at five when we have work at eight seems too much for me" Shin complained over the phone

"Well, that's because you're lazy"

"Hey! That's not nice"

"But it's the truth"

"Yeah...but still you shouldn't point it out" Shin responded sounding dejected

"Yeah no. That's not me. Watched anything interesting lately?"

"I finished watching that new series based on a game."

"Is that..." Miyake squinted and slightly looked up "The one with the sisters and one of them is mental or something?"

"Yep that's the one and honestly might rewatch it today"

"It's that good?" Miyake raised his eyebrow

"It's a masterpiece" 

"Oh really? But isn't the game hated?"

"It is but the show is separate from the game in a way...you know what tomorrow is our day off so I'm forcing you to watch it"

"But do..."

"Yes you have to"

"He didn't even let me finish"
