"Hola, guys!" I said cheerfully as Bella and I walked into the house.
Mami popped her head out of the hall.
"Looks like someone's happy," She said.
"Guess what? Bella and I talked it out, and we're no longer mad at each other." I said and smiled at my twin.
"Yup, and we have something to tell you. I have something to tell you," Bella said.
Mami and Papi shared a look.
"Can we all sit down first?" I asked as the atmosphere began to tense.
We moved towards the living room and once our parents were seated across from us, Bella took a deep breath.
"You probably know about the drama that's taken place these past few months," She started.
I squeezed her hands in comfort.
"After Luke and I kissed at Bri's party, I realized something..." She said and gave me a look that said, 'It's too late to back down, here we go'. "I realized that I'm not...straight." She said in one breath.
Mami and Papi didn't say a word and looked at us quizzically.
"She's gay," I blurted.
They all looked stunned for a moment.
Bella looked at me anxiously.
I gave her a thumbs up.
"Isabella- I- I had no idea." Mami whispered.
"Are you mad?" Bella asked worriedly.
Mami shook her head.
"Mad? Baby, it doesn't change who you are. We're so proud of you for telling us," Papi said.
Mami nodded and pulled us in for a hug.
Bella sighed in relief and I could almost feel the weight being lifted off her chest.
She turned to me and smiled.
"Thanks Ari," She whispered.
I smiled.
"Anytime," I replied.
"Ariana, do you have anything to tell us?" Papi asked half jokingly.
I thought for a moment.
"Actually, I do." I said.
Bella turned to me, shocked.
"I quit the track team."
Mami, Papi, and Bella gasped.
"But- but you love track!" Bella sputtered.
I nodded and said, "I don't think it's what I want anymore."
Mami looked at me sympathetically before asking, "Is it truly what you want?"
I nodded.
She smiled and so did Papi.
"Then so be it."

There was a knock on my door.
"Go away!" I yelled, burying my face in my pillow.
It was Tuesday afternoon and I had just gotten back from a long day at school.
The door opened despite my warning.
I was in a particularly grumpy mood because Luke had come to school and tried to talk to me but I kept running away, and now, all I wanted to do was die.
