One Last Time

Floating...

Floating...

Floating...weightless...
In pure darkness...

What was happening...?

Where was I...?

Hello...?

"Hello, Freya."

The soft voice drifted to me from the waves of blackness that threatened to lure me under.

I slowly looked behind me, all I saw was a brilliant white light that made me pupils stilt at the brightness of it.

I cocked my head and reached a hand out towards it, the holy light was...calling for me. Beckoning to me with the promises of warmth and safety.

"No, Freya, you don't want to go that way."

I looked back behind me but I only saw more of the offending darkness.

"Why not?" My question bounced around the seemingly endless amount of space.

"If you do, you won't be able to come back."

The same soft, almost soothing, voice came echoing back to me. I blinked and my face took on a confusing look.

"What if I don't want to go back? It hurts...it hurts so much...and I'm so cold there...and alone..."

The voice reached me again.

"You will be all right now...I'm here to help you, Freya."

The voice told me softly.

"Help me? How? Who are you?"

I heard melodious laughter that seemed to come from all around me.

"I am a friend from Fairy Tail."

The feminine, faceless voice came from right behind me.

With a quick breath to prepare myself for whatever was speaking, I spun around with my heart in my throat.

My eyes locked onto something that I was really not expecting.

A small girl stood a couple of feet away from where my body was being suspended in the air.

She had long, wavy, blond hair that reached down to her feet.

Her eyes were a beautiful green color but they had held no irises.

The small girl was wearing a frilly pink, layered robe with a red ribbon tied in a bow around her neck.

What really caught my attention were the wing-like adornments around her ears.

She smiled at me and began to walk toward me.

It seemed like she was glided instead of walking.

As she neared me I backed up further into the darkness.

"Don't be afraid, Freya."

The petite girl said with a another warm smile.

I stopped and reached for my necklace.

Only I touched my bare neck.

That's right, I gave my necklace to...Natsu.

A pang of hurt went through me, rocking me to my core.
