After having an amazing evening with her brother, she saw him off to his car. It was nice to have him drop by sometimes and just talk things out. Honestly, she felt lighter than she did throughout the entire day. She should really get to the part of actually trying out her dress for the wedding. She had not been an active member of the planning committee not because she didn't want to but because work had her all occupied. She was thinking of taking a leave for the next one month but that meant no million-dollar cheque for that month. She could leave with that. She had gone to Ken's house a couple of times and it was way smaller than hers. He always told her that he didn't need a bigger house except he was having kids. Well, he was going to have kids and she was tired of thinking of what to get her brother for his wedding gift so she went all out of her way and bought him a house on her street. Did she buy it? Actually no, she bought the land some years back and started to build on it earlier this year. She hadn't even known that her brother was going to get married so soon. She decided to finish up with the house and furnish it. That was going to be her gift. It benefitted both parties. They would get a bigger house and she gets to have neighbors that she actually knew. Her dad crossed her mind again. She sighed. The next time she would probably see him would be on Ken's wedding day in the church. She had zero plans of going to the house for Thanksgiving or Christmas

He crept up from behind

"You're doing it again!"
"Doing what?"

Dylan asked his best friend, shutting his laptop at the same time

"Staring at her pictures. You keep doing it. It's starting to feel like you're desperate"
"Maybe I am"

He dropped onto his bed. He looked at Gab and slapped his forehead

"Why on earth are you smiling Gabriel?"
"I don't know. You just look really stupid, drooling over a girl who doesn't even care if you're still existing"
"Well, she does care if I exist or not and I wasn't drooling. I just like the picture. The photographer is just very good. That's all"
"I'm trying to believe that"

Gabriel said, laughing this time. Sometimes Dylan really didn't like him. He thought about getting his own separate place a couple of times but he knew that was just crap. He couldn't leave Gabriel on his own. They might eventually get separated but right now, he didn't see himself moving out of a house they bought together. Although he paid more than Gabriel did but he didn't mind. To him, they both paid for it

"Anyways, I'm heading down to the supermarket. Want me to get anything for you?" Gabriel asked
"Nothing. I'm good here"
"Alright. I'm having Val over for dinner. You should stop wallowing in whatever kind of self-pity this is and get a shower. We could go clubbing later tonight. Maybe you would find a girl to ease whatever tense you're in"
"I'm not tensed and this is not self-pity"
"Whatever you say, Dy. Just fix your life. You're the world's best architect. You shouldn't brood over a woman. It should be the other way around but Nah, you're an idiot"
"I am not brooding over her. I'm fine without her and I would prove that to you"
"Uh-huh. How do you intend on doing that exactly?"
"You know what, let's go clubbing tonight. I'd prove to you that I am way past Wanda. I have moved on from her"
"That's the guy I would like to see"

Gabriel said as he left Dylan's room. Dylan for up from the bed. He walked into his closet and brought out a pair of jeans and a denim shirt. He looked hot in this combination and he knew. He wouldn't have to put in so much effort to attract any girl at a club. He had a shower and got dressed. He waited for Gab to return

"And what the hell is that supposed to mean?"

Brielle said, raising her voice at Ken

"I'm tired brie, another time"
"Another time? I am asking you where you were and why you're home late and you're telling me you're tired?"
"I was with Wanda. I had dinner at her place"
"I needed you here!"
"And she needed me"
"I am your wife to be"
"Wife to be. She is my sister for heavens sakes, Brielle. She gave me a million dollars for us to be together lawfully. I don't think spending time with her is supposed to be a problem. She is your best friend"
"And I don't put her above you. So why can't you do the same?"
"For Pete's sakes Brie! She is my sister and she needed me there. What was I supposed to do? Come home and come sit with you while you tell me how your day went. I told you already. I have to be there for her"
"Oh... So let me get this straight. You prefer to hang out with her than to hear how my day went?"
"That wasn't what I said"
"That was exactly what you said"
"You know what? You're really starting to piss me off. I'm going to go spend the night in another room. Have a nice rest"

Ken said as he stood up from the bed and headed out the door. Her reaction was shocking. It was his sister for Pete's sake. He wasn't hanging out with a female friend or a female secretary but his own sister. Why couldn't she see that? He didn't want to have to pick between his fiancée and his sister because honestly, he wouldn't know who to pick. He remembered Wanda's advice when he was having some girl issues back then and he didn't know who to choose. She said

"Choose the person who isn't asking you to choose"

And right now, Wanda wasn't asking him to choose
