you were browsing through the comics shop when hawk suddenly arrived with his Cobra Kai minions. your heart skipped a beat when you saw him walking towards you. he stood beside you and watched as you flicked through comic books.

you side-eyed him with a small smirk gracing your lips, a similar smirk mirroring on his too. the two of you have this "thing" of constantly teasing each other in place of actually communicating your thoughts or feelings—specifically how you really felt for each other. the challenge was to not be the first one to break.

"hawk." you said as you continued to flick through a row of comics.

"(y/n)." he replied, watching as you browsed. after numerous similar encounters, you've learned to pretend he isn't even there.

"here to browse for comics too or are you here to finally admit your unscratchable itch?" you asked, finally breaking the silence after what felt like longer than ten minutes.

"my unscratchable itch?" the taller boy replied, confused out of his mind. a small smirk crept up your lips.

"you know what i mean." you replied but didn't hear one in response. you continued to look for comics to buy and he continued to watch you. he was trying to get you to break but that was far from possible. "what are you doing here, hawk?"

"just browsing through comics..." he said as he turned to a row of comics and started flicking through it. from the corner of your eye, you could see that he was still looking at you as he was 'browsing through comics.'

"psshh... as if."

"no, really, i am."

"oh yeah?" you chuckled and turned your whole attention towards him. the tall mohawked boy was still looking at you as he stopped flicking his fingers mindlessly through the comics. you knew that this was the perfect time to tease him with his Cobra Kai minions around. after all, you knew him long enough to know that he was once a nerdy little boy. "well, if you're here 'browsing through comics' too, then would you please be so kind as to show your friends and i the last one you geeked over?"

you knew you got him right where you wanted when you saw him freeze up for a split second. an amused smile fought its way to your lips as you sent a challenging glare at hawk. much to no surprise, he said, "i don't do nerd shit."

"but only nerds actually enter this store. joke's on you." you retorted, a sarcastic smile on your face. an amused smile crept up hawk's face, realizing you were starting to outsmart him. you still had him at the palm of your hand so you continued your little teasing game. "you could show us your comic of choice and i'll let you off the hook or you could pay for my comics as a sign of your deep desire and affection for me."

he stared at you, both of you mirroring each other's challenging looks. your heart was beating like there was a sledgehammer inside of it as you waited for his reply. despite you hoping he'd go for the second option, he confirmed your assumption that he'd go for the first one when he said, "alright."

he walked over to the row of Marvel comics and you followed suit. his Cobra Kai minions followed too, awaiting to see what he'd pick. you peered over his shoulder as you watched him consciously flick through the comics this time.

"you're an actual bitch, you know that?" he said as he looked for the comic book that fit your instruction.

"and you're an asshole. we're even!" you beamed sarcastically. he looked at you for a moment and rolled his eyes gaining himself a punch on the arm.

after what seemed like the whole row of Marvel comics, he finally pulled out a comic book—the very first release in the Marvel Annihilation series. he smirked as he saw the surprised look on your face.

"Annihilation..." you nodded as you crossed your arms. you had to hide the fact that you were feeling extra giddy about him being a Marvel guy. "you have my respect. you never struck me as a Marvel guy."

"happy now?" he said as he put the comic back where he got it. this made you feel even more giddy.

"you're off the hook. for now." you replied, a cheeky grin on your face. hawk chuckled while shaking his head. he walked closer to you and stopped just inches before your face.

"you're going to bend at some point, (y/n). i just know it. and when you do, i'll finally confirm that you're head over heels for me." he whispered to you in a low voice. your heart was doing flips and turns because of the proximity of your faces and his words.

"not before i get you to break, lover boy." you whispered back challengingly. he pulled away from you and chuckled. he eyed you up and down before walking away, his shoulder brushing past yours.

you turned around and watched him and his minions walk away. much to your surprise, he turned his head to look back at you and smirked right before he winked. he was definitely going to get you to bend.
