Hope’s POV

“WHERE IS HE?!”

“I will not tell you unless you tell me where Chance is!”

“I told you, I don’t know.”

“I highly doubt that Serenity.” Uncle Siam says sarcastically, “Now am only going to ask one more time-“

“And you can ask me a thousand of times more, the answer will be the same, I. Don’t. Know!”

Chance was able to escape the guards along with Aiden and Gary in the middle of the night, and although I knew that they were leaving, hearing about it when I woke up still surprised me, much more when I was called by Uncle Siam to his office. Mom was furious, but dad knew how to handle Siam as a king. So we all went to see the king and that’s what brought us to this situation. Uncle Siam was interrogating aunt Serenity of where Chance went, in exchange of where uncle Eric is.

“Serenity-“

“WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME SIAM?”

I jumped in surprise; I’ve never seen Aunt Serenity this angry before. Even when Chase was dropped off at home by cops.

“Tell me what else you can possibly do to make things harder for me?!” She shouts.

Every single one of us in the room was staring at them.

Aunt Serenity and I were summoned by Uncle Siam to ask about Chance, Aiden and Gary’s whereabouts.

“Don’t be so melodramatic Serenity-“

“Melodramatic?!” she laughs, “You haven’t even seen melodramatic Siam, and you might not like to either.”

“Serenity I am your king and-“

“You are just my king,” Aunt Serenity sneered, “So I don’t see why you can’t throw me in the dungeon with the other wolves who had disobeyed you.”

“Stop being so stupid Serenity.” Uncle Siam spats, “You left us, the reason your children are ignorant about our kind is because of your selfishness. Look around you, look at our family you left, look at the people who were counting on you to bring hope, look at the families on every pack who had lost a family member to protect you and your mate!”

They were both fuming mad and glaring at each other.

“Eric, Chance and Fate are not your only family Serenity.” He continues. “Just as you are not just a shifter, not just as the princess, you are the deity! And whether you like it or not every single one of us is your responsibility! Every single one of those shifters out there draws hope from you and you’ve let them down again. Their lives did not matter to you, you chose to live like a human- like a hunter! How pathetic can you be?”

“Pathetic?” Aunt Serenity gave a laugh, “Pathetic is if I have stayed here so the hunters can try to attack us repetitively. Pathetic is you pinning all these on me. Pathetic is how none of you can see through your noses that you have survived without your so called deity. Pathetic is how you are so scared that you have to force my son to shift just to what? Save everyone from a rogue wolf? Well guess what, my king, that caused you 32 lives!”
