We arrived at the blockbusters 20 minutes later than planned. Stu wanted to stop at get something to eat at the local diner before tonight.
"I'm just saying, I don't like the way he spoke to you, he was really flirty" I rolled my eyes at him and turned towards him
"Stu he asked us where the bathroom was give the guy a break. And he was like 25" He turned off the engine as we hopped out of the car
"Well then I dont like how he was looking at you" he met me at the front of the car, taking my hand as we walked up to the door
"And how may that be?" He let out a sigh pushing open the door letting me in first
"The way I look at you" I smiled at him before turning to face the store. It was packed tonight, must have new movies in.
I began walking forward as I felt a tug on my arm. Turning back I saw Stu looking at a shelf with new releases on it. He let go of my hand as he went on his hunkers to look at the bottom shelf
My eyes scanned the store. The bright colours of the walls popping out at me and the posters that had horror, romance and comedy written on them hanging over their assigned shelves. My eyes caught sight of slick hair and I furrowed my brows, wasn't he staying behind in school?,
Stu stood straight up a grin on his face holding 'the frighteners' by Peter Jackson in his hand. "Hey stu," he began reading the description on the back of the box, raising his eyebrows to acknowledge that he heard me "Isn't billy meant to be staying behind in school?"
"Yeah why" he asked not lifting his head from the box
"Cause he's over there" Stu's head snapped up to follow where I was pointed to. Taking notice of billy scanning the shelf for a tape, Stu put the film back down and grabbed my hand bringing me over to his best friend
Stu and I's presence went unnoticed by the boy until Stu's hand came down on his shoulder causing billy to spin on his heel "hey buddy" I looked up at Stu and then to billy
"Hey Stu, Y/n/n" he nodded to us as I smiled back to him. "What you doing here?"
"I was just about to ask you the same thing" I looked between the two, there conversations seeming to get more tense every time they spoke
"Oh I just said I'd come by, say hey to Randy, check out some films" billy said quite unconvincingly. Stu rubbed his chin his eyes wider than usual, clicking his tongue
"And did you get that other thing done?" Billy glanced and me and then to Stu
"Yeah, yeah it's all cleared up with mr Richards now" I looked to Stu confused then to billy
"Oh Stu said you were with mr Davis for extra credit" billy let out a small laugh
" No yeah I was with mr davis but I had to clear up why I was late to mr Richards class earlier today" stu bit his lip almost like he was hoping I'd believe billy
"You get detention?" Both boys visibly relaxed before billy let out a breathy chuckle
"Yeah, yeah I did" I nodded while Stu smiled at both of us. I took notice of Randy over to my left riding around on a trolly for the tapes. Stu, seeing this too excused the two of us and we made our way over to Randy.
I came up to his right hugging him from behind while Stu went to his left. He turned to look at me a smile crossing his face until The stack of videos in his hand flew to the floor as Stu slapped them out of his hand "oh!" Stu began laughing and walked to the other side of the shelf
