(Esmerelda's POV)

It was 12:00 in the morning, I was sitting by the once filled lake of Fitzgard and pondering over my life choices. Do I really want to save Fitzgard or go back and die a painful death like the others? Last night I had a discussion with my parents regarding all of this and had realized that by last chance, it meant that my family was the last family left in the generation. In the end I decided to save Fitzgard and. I sat in her room and looked at the inscriptions. My parents told me that there was no one  left in Fitzgard to decipher the inscriptions but still I knew there was a family living here. By this time I got to know the waitress whose name was Ada. She told me that she doesn't know anything as she also just arrived and landed here. I was disappointed and so, I took the inscriptions and sat down on the porch of one of the houses. I was observing the inscriptions when I noticed a boy peeking at me from around the corner. As soon as he noticed that I was looking at him, he ran,  I ran after him and reached a house. I turned and saw myself facing the boy. He looked suspicious

"Hey, Its fine I wont do anything!", I said.  "What is your name? I am Esmerelda."

"My name is Isaac.", he said

The boy had beautiful emerald eyes and jet black hair which was very messy. He looked about twelve or thirteen years old and was wearing a t- shirt and worn out jeans. He was about 2 inches taller than me had a fiery look in his eyes. He was gorgeous! I snapped out of my thoughts when he spoke.

"Well Esmerelda, let me take you to my house.",  said Isaac.

He still looked suspicious but led me to their house.  I almost fainted at the sight of the house. It was magnificent. It had many portraits and was light gray. Surprisingly there was no much furniture present. Next he took me to his room and just like the rest of the house it was quite blank except for a bed and a table at the end of the room.

"I know its quite blank but I really don't have anything more as I live alone.", he said looking down.

"Hey, its fine. You can come and visit me everyday in my place.", I said.

"Really! thank you!", he said

"You're always welcome, come anytime.", I said.

Just like that we sat discussing on the bed and I told him everything. He also told me that he has a grandfather in another place who can read inscriptions. We thought we will try and go there or Isaac will try and contact his grandfather.  There was silence and then Isaac spoke up.

"My father died due to the curse that befell upon Fitzgard and soon after that i got transported here, somehow I earned a living.  Then I found this house with my name on it. I knew this was where I had to stay. Then I saw you walking around. I started observing you because I didn't know you and you could be a threat. Then, you saw me looking at you and here we go.", He said.

"Oh I didn't know I'm sorry.", I said.

"Friends?", I asked

"Friends", he replied

We sat discussing until it became dark and then it was time to say goodbye. We hugged.

"Thank you.", he whispered in my ear

I felt a whooping sensation in my stomach as I hugged him back.  I walked all the way home,  I don't know about Isaac but I think I just found a new best friend to stand in the place of the old one in my heart. I decided to go to bed as I had a long day tomorrow.
