do you know what's so weird about FINALLY having a wattpad account?
like the thing is, i used to use the browser anonymously for nearly a year at this point because
a) my phone storage said no
b) i didn't have a computer yet
c) i didn't know if i was even gonna use it much
but alas, here i am
but the really weird thing is, i used to practically beg the universe for a fanfic to update because- well i couldn't comment
or id talk to the air telling the author that they did a great job and deserve every one of their views
but now i have people telling me the same thing and its just so surreal
ALSO some of the authors of my favourite fanfics are some of my mutuals now which is so weird because i feel like im friends with somebody famous because ive just admired their work and storytelling abilities for so long
but they've never really known i had read their fanfics nearly a year ago because ive only started being active in like November of 2021 (even tho i made the account in April, i deleted wattpad because storage)
and its probably annoying that i talk shit about myself and my writing or it seems like im one of those pick me girls doing it for attention, but honestly, i didn't think anyone would find my account, let alone read the randomness you find on it
one thing ive noticed about wattpad is that, its easy enough to get a following rather quickly. not a big following but a lot more than youd get on other social media platforms
i mean, by the time you publish the first chapter of your first book, you already have a ranking, if you view as reader, you have a view, and its already being reccomended to people
am i looking too deep into an algorithm nobody has really given much thought about? yes
this is going to sound SO cliche but im really grateful for discovering wattpad, for that voice that told me to make this account and to write the randomness on here, for the funny conversations i have with people on here
im just happy i have people who are willing to listen- well i guess read about the things i like and am interested in
does it sound like im accepting an oscar or some other award? yes, im very dramatic
