I woke up, sweating, in a hotel room at 5:00 a.m. We'd been out on a case in L.A. for the past week.
It's been sixty-seven days since I last had a craving. But, now, I can slowly feel the tingles rise up my inner arm... where the marks have faded over time. I've somehow managed to dodge the piercing eyes of my colleagues, slipping by them unseen into my hotel room.
This case had truly been a rough one.
I let myself out onto the balcony, reveling in the cool night air before knowingly having to leave the sad excuse for a mattress to fly back home on the jet.
