Today started like any normal day, I suppose.
I woke up, grabbed a quick shower, let my hair naturally style itself, threw on my usual combo of jeans, converse, and t-shirt before bolting out my apartment door at 9:00 a.m. on a beautiful Saturday morning.
Now, I would hardly consider myself to be a 'morning person,' but ... I'd do almost anything for my best friend, including waking up at the crack of dawn to go grab us each a coffee from his favorite place just minutes from his apartment. I even felt extra nice and managed to also snag him a chocolate-frosted doughnut with sprinkles.
So, here I am outside Apartment 2B with two coffees and a special doughnut when I hear my phone ring -- blaring his unique ringtone.
I resituate the doughnut bag and both coffees carefully in one hand while I reach for my phone with the other.
Me📲: Hey, Spence, what's up? I'm outside your do---
Spencer📲: You--you're here?! Um, listen Y/N, I'd let you in, you know I would--but, I tested positive for COVID this morning.
