I tried to tell a tale you see
of how my story goes
and then I pondered thoughtfully
"I think I'll dig a hole."I wandered in the great outdoors
my shovel by my side
the perfect spot revealed itself
in nature I confideinto the ground I plunged the tip
the surface opened wide
aroma deep and earthy drifts
as history coincidesthe layers of the past reveal
a story I relate
time and place go hand in hand
foundation strong to makelike me indeed the whole you see
reveals an honest truth
each day does play into the fray
narrative blended throughcolor and texture in each confine
grade and shade in hues sublime
blend and mix without a break
a fluid structure they do makethe blueprint laid upon my life
placed carefully long ago
formed the plan to make the man
