"Oh my gosh, Mikey, stop it!" Waverly laughs, throwing her head back onto the top of the couch. He's tickling her, which she hates, and holding her down by her hips, which I hate. I thought it was pretty clear I liked her a lot and he would respect that, but I was obviously wrong. They've gotten close again, which is perfectly okay, but in their growing closer, we've grown apart.

I thought we had something really special, but now she's blowing me off to spend time with him. When we all hang out together, we rarely even touch each other, much less cuddle like we used to. She doesn't cuddle with Mike, but she would rather sit with him than me. I'm not gonna lie, it hurts like crazy seeing her with him again. She's the thing I want most in the world. I want her to be mine, but I'm not so sure that's what she wants.

The laughter in the corner comes to a halt and I look over, only to find that she's flipped him over and is now tickling him. He, however, doesn't seem too ticklish. She's laughing more than he is.

Calum comes downstairs with a bottled water and a bowl of watermelon in his hands. His chubby cheeks are puffed out, full of the sweet fruit. He comes and takes a seat beside me, and I feel slightly less miserable. Cal shoots me a sympathetic look which I return with a scowl.

"They're just friends, bro. You know that," he tries to convince me. I just sadly shake my head.

"It's obvious that he likes her, and I think she likes him back. I can't compete with him," I groan, causing the 'happy couple' to look over and acknowledge our existence. Luckily for me, they didn't hear what I said, only the aggravated tone of voice I used to say it.

"You okay, Luke?" She used to call me Lukey.

"Yeah, I'm good, Waverly." I used to call her Waves.

I guess we've both changed.

Waverly's POV

I want nothing more than to go over to where Luke is sitting, with the deep frown lines on his forehead, and cuddle up to him to make him happy again. I don't know exactly what I did, but I can tell his unhappiness revolves around me. He stopped calling me the little nicknames I had eventually taken such a liking to, he stopped texting me, he just stopped acting like my best friend.

I'm assuming that it has something to do with my getting close to Mikey again. He shouldn't be upset over that if he is; I'd never date Michael again. Luke was and continues to be the only boy on my mind that way.

Mike and I have gotten much, much closer. However, it's still nothing like what I have, or had, with Luke. All I can hope for is that he's just being jealous, upset that I'm close to a boy besides him and Calum, and will eventually get over it so we can move on from this.

While the movie plays on the big screen in my basement, I send Luke a quick text.
