~ an extended metaphor

two puzzle pieces, fitting together no matter the weather. two puzzle pieces, who's designs cannot be fully appreciated without the other to complete it. one cannot survive without the other, if one is lost the other is useless. if one is separated from it's pair nothing will work out. everything will fall down in agony, everything we'd worked so hard to make would crumble. whichever one of us that was left would be chronically alone, never able to rebuild the ruins we made. the skies would turn grey above our puzzle, not in a mocking tone, but simply to remind us that nothing would work out as it was destined to.
