My Dad Wrote a Porno is a British comedy podcast about Jamie Morton, a TV producer whose father, dubbed Rocky Flintstone for privacy reasons, writes a series of self-published novels about a woman named "Belinda Blumenthal". The point of the podcast is that the books themselves are poorly written with spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes and Rocky himself has a wild imagination and poor understanding of human anatomy, which we will get onto. Jamie reads these books in the presence of radio host and presenter, Alice Levine, and fellow TV producer, James Cooper to provide commentary. Starting in 2015, the podcast has amassed 6 seasons with several Christmas Specials, live shows across the world, countless awards and has garnered a celebrity following, inviting guests on special "footnotes" episodes with the likes of Lin Manuel-Miranda, Daisy Ridley, Dame Emma Thompson and many more. However, is it as good as it seems? I thought so at first.
