'Reaping day' i think to myself it's nothing new, I'm 18 my name has been in that bowl too many times I've been prepared to leave for the games for years I've trained I'm good with knives and a bow my best friend Mark has helped me ever since my dad and brother died.

The only thing I'm scared of is Harper's name getting called shes my 16-year-old sister she cants fight she can cook but not fight. I walk out of my room I see harper sitting at the table she looks so scared "Hey hey" I say sitting next to her wiping a tear from her face "Your only 16 there a little chance you'll be called" I say she nodded "I found you a dress" she says wiping her eyes walking to her room smiling" oh god I think to myself.

she walks out holding a blue wrinkled dress I fake smile because she looks so happy.

After I get dressed for the reaping harper is brushing my hair when Mark barges into our house "Well hello" harper says in a sarcastic voice I chuckle as he throws me an apple harper sighs

We all hear a loud knock at the door my heart stops knowing any of us can we reaped today harper stands breathing heavily I grab her hand "C'mon" I say dragging her out of the house.

after we get our blood taken we go stand with our gender and age

Effie claps after the long video they play every year "ok I just love that" I zone out until I hear her peachy voice say

"May the odds be ever"

"First for the ladies", she walks over to the large glass bowl "Harper Hart"

My heart stops I step forward trying to see harper I see her slowly walking up to the stage

"Harp, no harper no" I yell running peacekeepers grab me

"I volunteer, I volunteer as tribute!" I yell out loud not thinking

Harper starts crying Mr.lake drags her from my arms while I begin to walk up the stage

"District 12 has its very first Volunteer," Effie says clapping

"Now for the gentlemen," she walks to the glass bowl I pray it is not Mark he's the only one to protect Harper

"Mark Mitchell" my heart drops

he walks to the stage we shake hands then get shoved into separate rooms

Harper and Mr.lake barge in the room harper jumps into my arms Mr.lake rubs my arm "Listen harper be ok you'll be ok" I smile at her cupping her face "Promise me you'll try and win" she says tears streaming down her face nod Mr.lake hugs me he's been like a dad to us ever since our dad died "Ill protect Harper I promise willow" I nod again trying not to cry

peacekeeper grabs both of them "I love you" I yell before the doors close.

I sit in the wood chair leaning forward with my elbows on my knees and my face in my hands

I breathe in "What the fuck did I just get myself into" I whisper to myself

I and mark enter the train to the capital, I sit on the blue couch when mark and Haymitch talk about the games. I wasn't listening until I felt a warm hand on my knee look up and see the mark, his green eyes meet my blue ones "You ok?" he asks I nod in silence he smiles.

Effie walks into the room "It's time to watch the reapings" She says turning on the TV

it starts with the district on the female tribute Her name is 'Marley Jones' shes thin with brown hair and brown eyes

The male tributes name is 'Marvel Sandford' he's tall think with brown hair And light green eyes he was very attractive in my opinion

Then district two The female tributes name is 'Clove Kentwell' she has brown hair with dark brown eyes

The male tribute name was 'Cato Hadley He had blonde hair and blue eyes I sit up in my hair when he comes on the screen I see mark looking at me from the corner of my eye

I zoned out until I hear marks name and see our reapings

I hear Effie "we are here" I sit up in my chair and watch mark walk up to the window after we were taken by a stylist to rooms.

After getting 'cleaned up' i feel raw my body hurts my head hurts and I see 2 girls with pink and blue hair and one guy with bright green hair "Cinna will be with you shortly" the guy with green hair says then leaves.

A tall dark man comes into the room with a little gold eyeliner and makes off the robe so he can look at me "Who are you?" I ask slipping the robe back on "I'm Cinna your stylist" he says touching my hair "I'm willow" I say as he kisses my hand "I am aware willow" he says smiling.

Cinna brings out a black jumpsuit with a long black cape and explains what I will wear it for.

I walk out in the tight jumpsuit I see mark talking to Haymitch in a smiler outfit to me I walk over to him "Hey" I say grabbing his arm "Hey will, you ok?" I shake my head "I'm just nervous" he chuckles looking up and looking over my shoulder "You have a stalker" he says nodding his head behind me I look behind me and see The boy from district one 'Marvel' his green eyes travel up and down my body, I look him up and down and turn around I look at the mark he raises an eyebrow "What's his problem?" he asks "I don't know" I say picking my nails.

"Willow Hart" I turn to see a tall handsome man with bright white teeth and blue eyes he shakes hands with Haymitch and kisses Effie's. He walks up to me and marks the sakes marks hand "Your strong" he says letting go of his hand "You two might be a real threat in the games this year" he says smiling at me "And you Willow hart you are one fine pearl" he says kissing my hand I smile at him "Thank you sir" he raises his eyebrow "Sir? Please call me Finnick" I smile "Ok Finnick" He smiles as he walks away.

"He's a charmer," Mark says turning my way "Yeah," I say "He was flirting with you" mark chuckles "No he wasn't he was being nice" he laughs "Come on Willow and mark," Effie says motioning us to the carriage. The

We step into the Black Carriage I hear Cinna "I'm about to set you on fire" I snap my head at him "WHAT?" "It ok not real," Haymitch says "Don't get near him with it then he will die," I say looking at Haymitch he sneers at me I roll my eyes then Cinna sets my dress on fire I gasp when we start moving mark grabs my hand I look at him "C'mon it won't hurt anyone," he says lifting our hands in the air the crowd gets louder.

We stop and Mr snow starts to talk I look around and catch district 2 tribute 'Cato Hadley' staring at me I hold his glare until I hear him say

"May the odds be ever in your favor" then we trot off back to our mentors and Escorts.

Effie takes me to my room shes opens the big steel door I look inside it has a huge bed and a big TV and a door that leads to the bathroom "Dinner will be done soon" I nod and sit on the big soft silky bed.
