You had been preparing for your little sister and brother's birthday, Hanako and Shigeru which would be 

It was almost an hour before you opened your bakery as the regular opening hours were from 7:30 am to 9:00 am for the workers while for the last hours, you stayed back from the morning to night around 11:30 pm

Working on the doll you have been regularly decorating with crimson braided ribbons on the side of the doll's kimono as it had a bob cut and porcelain-like face because of the cloth you used for the beginning, touching up its face in a traditional way before you put it beside a pile of hand-knitted scarfs and gloves along with a big box that occupied the whole table where you put them all at.

You already settled on going from the train in order to go from Tokyo to Yokohama so you could surprise them.

A soft smile decorated your face before putting on your coat, scarf, hat and boots on before leaving your house.

Ever since your business has been successful, you have been earning a large sum of money every month and always send the 68% of it to your family monthly as well, since you don't have much to do with the excess money with the 32% already enough to cover for the taxes, regular expenses like food and if in the mood, some clothes and other supplies.

You were lost in thought about what more you could prepare since you could be staying over around a week before returning, thinking if you should buy your mother a beautiful kimono...maybe for your baby brother, Rokuta..you should buy some of the bestselling toys in here since there are many more things in the capital your living in where they won't find anywhere else so easily..and not to forget, the middle child, Takeo, he's often interested in reading, especially in law, so you could buy him-

"Oh? Y/n over here! How have you been doing lately!!!", your thoughts got cut off as you returned their energy with a wide smile 

"Saki??? How long has it been??? I'm doing great! how are you and your little girl!", You greeted her back before catching sight of her child, bending down to her while waving at the girl who shyly stood behind her mother before coming a bit forward and holding two of your fingers with their hand as it made you blush due to its cuteness

"Oh my god...Yuki where did you find this angel", you grinned at her as she sighed

"Oh, how many sleepless nights I went through for this angel! but she's the devil whenever she cries for sure!", she playfully remarked before carrying her child in her arms as both of you had a nice laugh and continued talking about general questions since it's been some years since you guys met again

"By the way, wanna check out my bakery?"

"Woah! You have a business going on? It must be nice", she said in a sad tone before you comforted her by patting her bag

"Can you tell me, why you are here?.. Did something happen?", she gave you a faint smile before looking away as her hold to the little kid tightened a bit

"It's alright, take your time, wanna pay a visit?"

"Oh no, I won't wanna trouble you-"

"Your first time right? It'll be free for you, don't worry!", you leaded her to the path to your workplace and 12 minutes after, you met with your pastry shop

"Wis-te-ri-a...That's named after the flower...your shop will surely catch the eye of a lot of people Y/n, I'm sure your baked goods are just as delicious", she softly smiled before you took out the key to unlock your shop, leading her inside, welcoming her with the eye-calming interior around, having her sat in a cushioned table with armrests and pillows with the baby settled on her mother's lap while you handed her the menu

"So, here's the menu, let me know on what you wanna order", you told her with a passionate smile that could blind her if it was actually possible

"I want..some creamy fruit cake sandwich and melon soda with vanilla on top...",

"Coming right up"

around 4 minutes later, you went up to her with the order as she went for the cake

"Oh my.."

"Is it to your liking?"

"I love it", Saki said as the softness of the pastry flatter her taste bud, satisfying her as it made her blush about it

"Well then, how about you try the drink now?", she stirred the melon soda with the vanilla a bit before drinking it

"I can't describe it but...I could have this every day and never be tired of it, I guess this is why it's one of the combos on your menu, it was the first to catch my eye honestly", she gave a toothy smile as the baby had a bite from the cake sandwich that saki kept on the table, eating some of it as it started to giggle with the cream scattered around it mouth

"I see that our little angel also likes this", you clapped your hands as the moment was enjoyed to the fullest until it lasted

So you ended up hearing about the problems Saki faced, and about how her place was not safe for the child at all, and seeking work in Tokyo and much other stuff

You felt extremely bad for how she had been living since the start, of course, she made a lot of wrong choices on the way, but the past was made to be forgotten, so it wasn't worth it to mention it anymore...you even lectured her for not calling you if she ever did need any help, since you guys used to be so close in high school until graduation...You did save her many times from making bad choices and protected her as much as you could, but you guys had to separate after graduation since you had college after, and the one who admitted you was out of station sadly, so that was where you guys were separated.

"You can live in this apartment near me, it has great reviews and I take care of you guys, so don't worry"

"No..I can do this myself...I feel like I'm a burden to you y/n..I don't want to be a burden-", grabbed her hands before making direct eye contact with her

"Don't say that! This is the least I can do!", tears started to form in her eyes as she tried to hold back her tears

"I'm so sorry...I regret all this...so much..if I wasn't so naive back then...", you hugged her in an attempt to comfort her

"E-excuse me", You turned to see that another customer came in your shop, Saki chuckled 

"Oh my...how embarrassing", she said as she smiled 

"Well then, I won't keep you to myself now, I'll be here, alright?", she said while patting your head while your giggled lightly before doing your work

The mother relaxed as she sang a quiet lullaby to her baby as the phonograph started playing Solas by Jamie Duffy.
