Epilogue

"Oh my God." 

Ruthie dropped her bike and ran across the street, to the boy sitting in the grass, wearing a beanie and sunglasses, drinking a carton of orange juice like it was his job. He looked over at her and shot her a smile.

"Hey Ruthie." He said.

"Lucas? Lucas, is that you?" She asked him. 

"It's Harley,"

"Harley? Oh my God."

He removed his sunglasses and gave her another smile. "Is that your new thing now? No more questions, right?"

"You're here."

"Here I am,"

Ruthie ran her fingers through her hair and her face broke out into a smile. "When you said see you next year in that letter, I didn't actually think you meant next year."

He looked at his watch, then his cell phone. "Actually, it's been a year and one day, so um, you're late."

"I'm late?"

"Uh - huh."

"Late?"

"Questions."

She hadn't thought it possible but her smile widened. "What's on the agenda for today?"

He grabbed something from beside him and handed it to her. "I bought you orange juice."
