Flip of a Coin

Chapter 28 (Mrs O'Brien's POV)

The sun was shining on this lovely fine day and Asher and Eden had gone out to get Ice cream so I thought I would do some investigating. My footsteps echoed up the hallway before I finally made a sharp left turn into Asher's room. Grabbing his stool I made my way into the corner of his room. Standing on my tip toes I managed to reach up and grab the small security camera I had placed up there. I was busy trying to plug it into the computer when I was interrupted by the buzzing of my phone.

"Hello," I say into the phone.

"Hi, it's Sonya. I was wondering if you were going to have a look at the camera?" she asked me.

"As a matter of fact I'm doing that right now so feel free to come over whenever," I tell her and the line quickly goes dead. This allows me to go and sort the camera out with as much time as possible before she comes over. I put my phone down and got to work. Plugging the camera in resulted in a bright flashing thing appearing on the screen. Three buttons came up, Watch Footage, Film Footage and Settings. I clicked on Watch Footage and up popped the black and white silent film type thing. Along the bottom were some time things so I selected 7:00pm which was about when Eden went to Asher's room. I watch carefully until 2 characters walk into the room and just stand in one place. I can't see a lot since Asher had his back to the camera but I soon see Eden step a little to the side and freeze. Her eyes are focused directly on the camera. Damn it. They caught us. I see Asher step back a bit and watch him turn around and stare up at the camera for a while, before they sit down together on Asher's bed. I see him get out his laptop and Eden starts helping with his homework. 

Brrriiiiiiiiing Brrriiiiiiiiiiiiiing 

I rush to the door and greet Sonya as she walks inside. "Umm... the footage isn't very interesting and nothing happens but we did get caught..."

"Damn... oh well," she replies in what seemed like an annoyed tone. She followed me to the computer and I played it from 7:00pm again. I watched even closer this time to see if anything stood out this time. They were standing there again. "That's it," Sonya yells. "That's the kiss, at least I think, but I'm still pretty sure they've kissed anyway, or at least probably have by now." 

"You think? Well if they continue to kiss, we may have to stop them from seeing each other as much because this bond could get even stronger and they are only 15. I don't want anything bad to happen to either of them," I inform her.

"Mmm," she replies and that was it. I unplugged the camera and got rid of any signs that may have been there so that if Asher walked through the door, all will be fine. I was lucky I did because within the next couple of minutes, I heard someone unlocking the door and sure enough it was Asher with Eden by his side. I walked to the door to see them.

"Do you mind if Eden stays for a bit? We did go to her house to drop her off but no one was home..." he paused as Sonya  walked out, "...and oh... I guess that explains it," Asher finished. 

"Eden, I was just about to leave so let's go now," Sonya tells Eden.

"Oh, ok... Well Bye Eden," Asher says opening the door for Eden and her mum. Once they are gone I decide to ask Asher a few things.

"How was it?"  I ask him.

"Great, that new ice cream place has some amazing flavours," he answers so I ask further questions to hopefully get as much information out of him as possible.

"Did they? Did you do anything else?" I ask him.

"Well... after we went and go the ice cream, we went to the park to eat it and then just walked around the park for a bit before coming back home," he tells me.

"Have you kissed her yet?" I ask and can almost see the tension building up inside of him.

"Kind of, it was just a little peck on the cheek," he says but I'm not sure whether it the truth or not... so I decide to just go back to doing some cleaning which, I really should've been doing instead of watching the boring footage which had nothing interesting in it. 

...

About an hour later, an idea struck inside of me. What time did Asher show Eden around the house? More investigating must be done....
