PART TWO
3RD PERSON POV: 2 years ago 18year old Camilo Madrigal was getting ready to see his Amor, Y/n L/n. He was planning to propose and fulfil their dream. Get married at 20, have 2 kids and be together forever. But Abuela Alma did not want this at all, she chose a different ending for him.
He slipped a black ruana on and headed downstairs, he was about to leave Casita but Abuela stood in his way. "Where are you going?" She asked sternly. Camilo smiled brightly "To see Y/n, why?" The smile never left his face, it just widened when he mentioned the girl he fell in love with.
"I disapprove of this whole relationship Camilo, i set you up with another amazing girl in the village and you WILL marry her when you're 20, i will not take no for an answer" His Abuela explained.
Camilo stood in shock, searching the older woman's eyes to see if she was tricking him until he realised she was not the type to pull any jokes. His heart shattered. "But..i love Y/n" he murmured. The woman scoffed. "Well stop loving her, you will marry Rosa Rivera and you will love her!" Abuela snapped.
Camilo froze at the name. Rosa Rivera was Y/n's BEST FRIEND. How could this happen? How will he even tell Y/n this? "I expect you to end things with Y/n and you will be meeting Rosa at dinner tonight" Abuela informed before walking off. Camilo had tears in his eyes. He knew nobody could get him out of this situation.
When Isabela was betrothed to Mariano, nobody made an effort to see her true feelings about him or even ask 'hey Isabela, do you actually want this?' So who would do that for him, right? He later broke up with Y/n and left the girl in tears, guilt pooling in his veins. He missed her already.
At dinner, Camilo didn't make an effort with Rosa and the people who noticed this was HIS family. Pepa, Felix, Dolores and Antonio. They knew him. They knew Camilo's true feelings. And as an 8 year old boy, Antonio identified people's feelings extremely well.
After dinner when Rosa left, the boy comforted his brother. "If you still love Y/n then you should marry her, right?" He asked in his small voice. Camilo smiled with his trembling lips. "Thats not how it works, Tonito.." he murmured and Antonio wrapped his small arms around his crying brother.
Pepa was livid to say the least but no matter how hard her or Felix tried to change Abuela's mind, it didn't work. She waffled on about how much she despised Y/n and how much trouble she caused.
Dolores listened to her brother cry at night. She heard Y/n cry too and couldn't stand it that the couple had been separated like this. She wanted to talk to her Abuela but if her mama and papa couldn't convince her, how would she convince her?
