Narrator's POV
July 9, 1991
Compton, California
Mystery knocks on the door of her mother's home, while all kinds of memories started to play in her head.
Waited for a few minutes, and she answered the door.
"Mystery! Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be in the college?" Mama asks.
"I'm pregnant."
"I'm sorry, what?" Mama replies.
"I'm.. pregnant?"
She slams the door, and after about ten seconds she opens it back, "honey, come in."
She takes her hand and walks her into the house.
She sits her on the couch, "Mystery how did this happen?"
I think we all know how it happened.
"Uhh, i-"
"I know how it happened, who did you do it with?" She asks.
Mystery just stares at her.
"Hello? Who did you do it with?"
"Keisha, if she doesn't want to tell, she doesn't have to." A unfamiliar man says.

"Negro last time I checked, this was my daughter." She retorts.
"Keisha watch your damn mouth!" He says and she stares at him.
"Mama, who's that?"
"Jalen."
"Jalen who?"
"For your information little girl, this is my husband."
"Your husband?"
"Yes, my husband."
"You got married and didn't tell me?"
"I didn't think it was any of your concern, especially since at that time you were gone."
"But-"
"Little girl, who got you pregnant?"
"Uhh-"
"You know what, forget it. You aren't going to tell me and I don't blame you. Just find out a way you're going to tell your big headed ass father."
