The Hallowed Lair

Sukia hurried though the Bazaar on her way to Frost's room. If I hurry maybe I can catch him sleeping again she thought to herself. Shimmer appeared at her side saying, "Nova just said to meet him by Shaxx to watch some crucible." Sukia smiled at her ghost abd replied, "Don't have too much fun without me Shim!" And with that she jogged away from her ghost giving a fleeting wave as she made her way to Frost's room. Shimmer gave a contented sigh as he tilted his shell watching his guardian hurry away. It's good to see her happy again... the ghost thought to himself as he floated back up towards the courtyard. This had become their normal morning routine over the last few weeks. He and Nova would explore the tower as Frost and Sukia had a private breakfast. Shimmer gave a slight chuckle thinking about how Sukia's stomach growled each morning as she thought about Frost's cooking. Shimmer caught sight of Nova floating next to the crucible handle and gave a spin of his shell in greeting, I hope this never ends...

Sukia slowly opened the door peeking her head in slowly. She quietly closed the door behind her and crept towards Frost's bedroom. She stepped into the doorway gazing at his bed searching for his sleeping figure laying within. Suddenly hands grasped her sides and a familiar voice yelled from behind her, "BOO!" Sukia gave a squeal of fright as she turned around smacking Frost across the face with her palm. Frost laughed rubbing his cheek as a big smile light up his face. Sukia crossed her arms her cheeks slightly red as a pouty look crossed her face. "Don't scare me like that Frost!" She exclaimed stomping up to the tall guardian. He smiled down at her as he placed his hands on her arms rubbing gently up and down. He cocked his head slightly his big smile still on his face as he said, "I'm sorry Suki, it was just too good to pass up." He turned sliding his arm around her shoulders and leading her to the kitchen. He continued, "How about I make it up to you, I have a surprise for you today."

Sukia looked at him curiosity covering her face, "Oh? And what might that be?" The pair rounded a corner into the kitchen and Sukia eye grew wide as she gasped, "Pancakes!" She gave Frost a quick hug before darting over to the table which had three plates stacked high with pancakes. Her gaze darted between the three plates before flying up to look back at Frost, "How did you know this is my favorite?" She asked. Frost rubbed his neck looking down slightly embarrassed as he blushed, "Uh... I asked Shim, I figured bacon and eggs would get boring so... yea." He walked over to he side gesturing to the three plates, "I uh, forgot to ask what kind were you favorite so I made, blueberry, chocolate chip, and just regular." She gave a teasing grin as she poked her partner in the ribs saying, "I see that ya goofball." Her smiled turned softer as she looked up at him. "Thank you." She said and hugged him tightly. Frost looked down in surprise at his partner's display of affection. He wrapped his arms around he replying quietly, "Of course Suki, anything for you..."

The pair sat out on the couch watching crucible as they ate their breakfast. Sukia leaned her head over resting it on Frost's shoulder as she ate a stack of Pancakes. He stole a glance at her a content smile crossing his lips. She's so pretty... I wish we could stay like this forever. The pair finished their breakfast with a contented sigh. Sukia rubbed her over full stomach as she commented, "Gosh that was good, you're gonna make me fat at this rate Frosty." She teased. Frost gave a light chuckle as he took her plate to the kitchen to clean it. She watched him go a tinge of pain in her heart. Do I tell him how I feel...

Frost and Sukia left his room and made their way to the courtyard. Shimmer and Nova soon reappeared at their guardians side. Shimmer looked worried as he spoke, "Uh Suki?" Sukia cocked her head looking at her ghost, "What's up Shim?" Shimmer averted his gaze before replying, "Zavala wanted to talk to you... I think it's about, you know what." Sukia frowned as she said, "Oh..." she turned to Frost saying, "I guess I'll catch you later tonight then, after I deal with this." Frost furrowed his brow confused and concerned, "What's wrong Suki?" She turned to head to Zavala saying, "It's nothing..." Frost frowned reaching out gently grabbing her wrist, "Wait... let me help you." He quickly let go his cheeks turning red embarrassed at his own outburst. He looked away as he spoke, "I mean we're a Fireteam now aren't we? Let me help you." Sukia looked at him surprised at his forwardness, she gave a slight smile as she said, "I guess we are..." She walked over to a nearby railing looking out at the city lost in thought. The pair stood in silence for a moment before Sukia turned back to Frost a serious look in her face. "You deserve to come. Just... don't get yourself killed." She punched his shoulder with a smirk as she passed him and strode towards the Vanguard leader.
