It felt like hours since athena had run off to the stables to try escape her problems but in reality it had only been minutes. How could her own father do this to her, did lance not even consider her feelings? Did he just expect her to be fine with this and go off and marry Thomas shelby with no problem? All athena could think of was how cruel was someone to be to even consider selling of their daughter for business.

As midnight came to a stop athena jumped of standing infront of a well known lake that she would visit so often on her knightly rides, all she wanted to do was scream or yell or do something anything but nothing came the world was spinning for her, she couldn't breathe all she could do was clench for air

And finally it all came crashing down athena was ever so truly trapped there was no getting out of marring Mr shelby she knew that, she would have to move away from her home,leave her mother and even though right now she wasn't a big fan of her father she would still ever so miss him as much aswell.

Back in the warrens mansion an eerie silence had washed over both families ever since athena had stormed out of the building, neither one knew what to say or do in this situation

But slowly and steadily lance got up , grabbing the kane on the left side of the desk he slowly made his way to the office door before turning back around to look at the shelby men and his very annoyed looking wife.

"I think I should go and see her" and with that lance was out the door and down to the stables to fetch his very own horse and go find his daughter

And there by the very same lake he would escape to when he was just a boy sat his daughter looking on to it even though athena noticed his presence she did not acknowledged her father

But finally "how'd you fined me?"

With a smirk lance began sitting down beside his daughter on the cold, dried grass "when I was just a boy around your age I hated helping my father, you grandfather with the buisness it always bored me to death so when no one was looking I'd sneak out herecwith my horse nestle to get some peace"

Looking over at her father with a raw face she wanted nothing more to yell at him, to ask him why..why do this to her but she didn't say anything just turned back to the lake

"Your not as smart as you think" this caught athena of guard her father had already pissed her off already and know he's adding to it, but all lance did was laugh

" every night I hear you sneaking in and out of your bedroom window to go ride most likely down here" now this shocked athena she thought she had been smart when she snuke in and out but lance continued "after all you are you fathers daughter".

All of a sudden athena began laughing hysterically before bursting into tears and all lance felt was sorrow corsing through his body he had caused his daughters sadness he had caused her pain and that's all that kept playing in his mind while he sat with her,

"I would like to know why, why are you marrying me of to some man you barely know" As Athena's question floated in the air all her father could do was sigh sadly

" I know you don't understand right now-" but he was cut of by his daughter laughing harshly

"No..no I don't understand right now and I don't think i ever will so please go ahead father explain it to me, explain how you think its such a good idea to sell you daughter of to some man to help your business blossom even more that it already has" and with that athena marched off toward her horse lance should of expected this to be thrown In his face for goodness sakes he had consider all the things he would get from this settlement rather than his only child's feeling

"I know" Lance began with " I know I'm selfish for doing this to you, for thinking of my self when agreeing to it and how you athena are going to hate me for the rest of my being but it might not seem like it but this is for the best, It well stop a fueding war breaking out and give you the protection you deserve and I know I'm asking for so much basically to sign your life away but this is for the best,

I'm getting older and sicker and I'm not going to be able to protect you like I should be and I hate myself so much for it" and with those meaningful words finally out athena ran to her father and pulled him into a hug before bursting into tears again

"I couldn't hate you forever dad but right now I will and I'm know I'm being selfish aswell, but I think I get too for a while atleast this isn't what an 18 year old girl wants to her the day after her birthday but.." pulling back from the hug and looking at lance she never thought she would hear what she heard this day or ever and what was about to happen would shock lance

"....I'll marry Thomas shebly"
