A flower of decade

It was so precious to hold

So precious to watch

So precious to leave behind

A precious jewel

I was willing to be its tool

5 years of cherishing, 5 years of admiring

10 years of knowing

Years of thinking

We weren't compatible

I was a tree

And he was a flower

I was known to stay

He was known to shine and flicker away

I was acknowledged to grow 'til I can't see the ground

He was acknowledged to make people happy and proud

I was meant for the world

He was meant for someone,

I was created to be a shield

He was designed to be shield at

I was created to be commented on with "you're old"

You were created to be commented with "vintage, I'm keeping you 'til I get old"

It was a compliment for you

A pressure for me

As I grow

The longer I know that you'll go
