“Labas tayo?” Yaya ni Arabelle sa akin.
Tumaas ang kilay ko. I am sketching on my sketchbook when she suddenly came in my office holding bunch of junkfoods. Then she suddenly asked me to go out later, for no reason at all.
Well, gano’n naman talaga kami noon pa. Lumalabas kami ng walang rason. Gusto lang namin na mag-enjoy.
But this time, I feel like not going out at all. I just want to stay inside my condo, inside my room and sketch design as long as I could. I don’t know why this is happening to me?
“What’s with you and junk foods? Are you broken or something?” Sinuri ko siya.
She doesn’t like eating junk foods. Mas mahilig akong kumain ng junk foods kaysa sa kanya and she would always tell me how bad junk foods for my health. If I know, may problema ang isang ‘to.
She shrugged and continued eating anyway. “Nothing. Change of likes, I guess? You didn’t tell me junk foods are delicious!”
Nailing ako. “I told you like all the time, but you just shrugged. Sabi mo ayaw mo dahil masama sa kalusugan mo at gusto mong mas lalo kang maging fit. Ayaw mong tumaba kaya ayaw mong kumain. Sabihin mo na lang kasi sa akin kung ano ang problema mo. I’ll listen.”
She suddenly laugh evilly and slapped my arm making me grunt and close my eyes tight. I sighed and shook my head.
At least her mannerism didn’t change.
“I don’t have any problem, my friend! I just feel like eating junk foods because they’re delicious! So, stop asking me such questions and just go out with me tonight. Let’s enjoy and forget every men that came into our lives! They’re all just a bunch of assholes who does nothing but stick their dicks on our butts! Pieces of shits!” Then she laugh evilly again.
I blinked. I cleared my throat. Inayos ko ang eyeglass na suot. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Yes, I am! I really am! I am okay! Goddamn okay!” She laugh. Nilingon niya ako. “So? Going out with me tonight?”
I stared at her for awhile before I slowly nodded. “Alright.”
I’m certain that she’s having problems but she doesn’t want to tell me. I respect her decision and I do not have the right to barged in. So, if she want her problem for herself, then I’ll let her be.
“Yes! Yes! We’re going out tonight! Yes! Yes! Yes!” Sigaw niya saka nagtatalon.
Napakamot ako sa kilay ko. “Alright, alright. Calm down, Arabelle. We’re going out tonight and we’re gonna be wasted, we’ll enjoy the night and forget unnecessary people that came in our lives. Yes, we’ll do all of that. But for now, why don’t you give me some of that chips. It looks delicious.”
Then she stormed out of my office.
I sighed. “Crazy.”
“Nivia, can you see any handsome men out here?” tanong sa akin ni Arabelle.
Now, I’m worried kung paano kami uuwi.
“No, not really. I can’t see any good looking guy here. I don’t even know why I’m losing my good-looking-guy instinct, if there’s such thing—but I guess wala. Walang gwapo rito. Kung may kamukha ni Ino rito, tiyak, may gwapo! Pero kung wala, edi, wala rin.” I giggled.
