Mirabel woke up from the tree branch she was sleeping, stretching as her body was still adapting to the new environment she's in.

The fire she made was a mess, it was a good decision on her part to sleep up in the tree or she might've been mauled by some wild animal by the time she woke up.
Mirabel shudders, making her contemplate to go back to Encanto and just suck it up with the treatment.

But she shook her head, No, she can't back out now, she's already out of Encanto! And it will be very embarrassing! She's not ready to face disappointed stares or glares or even pity smiles.

Mirabel slapped both of her cheeks and hyped herself up.

"You can do this Mirabel! Do it for the family! Do this for yourself!"

"Shitshitshit! Stupid past Mirabel, what were you thinking?! You barely know anything outside of Encanto, how did you think you could survive?!"

Currently, Mirabel, our dear mc, was running from jaguar, oh not like Antonio's friendly one, this one in particular, is hungry.

Mirabel filled with adrenaline did parkours she normally could not do, in her hand are her bags, some contents almost slipping out.
Her mind trying to churn something out to save herself, eyes drifting everywhere to see anything that could help.

Then she saw it.

A cliff! The thick vines! She's going to die!

Mirabel skidded to a stop and stared at the jaguars eyes, provoking it, it pounces on Mirabel but she barely avoided it by ducking, she quickly pulled the vines hanging on the cliff, tripping the jaguar, its limbs and neck tangled to the vines as it hanged by the cliff's slope.

Gritting her teeth, Mirabel held on the vine tightly feeling the jaguar struggle, she saw a thick tree near her and tied it around the tree for support, she quickly took out her supply bag, taking the butcher knife she snatched from the kitchen.

The jaguar was running out of breath from moving too much with a tight vine around its neck, Mirabel hesitated clutching the butcher knife, seeing the jaguars condition.

"I'm sorry."

The jaguar tried to swipe its claw to free itself from the vines, but with its limbs also tangled by vines it was having a hard time.
Mirabel closed her eyes and swinged her knife to cut.

The jaguar growled at her, having a stare off before it ran away, Mirabel still holding the knife fell to her knees.

She could've have died.

She could've killed that jaguar.

But she didn't, and she couldn't.

Her body was sore, with adrenaline now gone Mirabel felt her body screaming, she couldn't help but laugh at her foolishness, she hopes that Jaguar could have some conscience somehow and not attack her tomorrow.

Sighing, Mirabel stood up and looked at the cliff, she didn't notice it before but there's a town, maybe a port? Port town? In the distance.

Mirabel elated, that she didn't have to be clueless in where she's going.

"I guess something good come out of being chased by that jaguar after all." Mirabel breathes in relief as she was about to head to the opposite direction till that jaguar chased her all the way here.

She adjusted her glasses, arranged her bag, putting the butcher knife back, and taking a bite of her mother's arepa as she was injured, AGAIN, from all that running.

"I gotta be more careful." Mirabel said to herself, before patting herself of dust and securing her things.

She looked at the town at the distance before pausing, she looked around and trees were blocking which way she should go, suddenly Mirabel felt her head starting to ache.

'Getting chased a jaguar is enough for today Mirabel... Lets leave the climbing-down-a-cliff for another day...'

Mirabel thought as she looked around her, the sun rising out as if cheering her on.

...

Fortunately Mirabel didn't have to climb down from a cliff as around the corner covered by trees is a faint but surely a safe sloping way down.

Mirabel continued walking, taking out a food to eat or even picking up wild fruits as she pass, after what seem to be an hour of walking, she finally saw a track on the ground, assuming it led to that town, Mirabel followed it.

And with luck on her side this time, she arrived at the town,  just before lunch.
Mirabel was feeling excited but also nervous, she was looking at the signs before she felt something or someone bump into her.

"Ahaha! Sofia you're so slow!"

"Im just short Andres!"

Next thing she knew, she was being used as a hiding obstacle by the two kids.
Mirabel couldn't help but giggle at the two's antics.

It reminds her of when they were still young, not feeling obligated or pressured...

Mmm...

"Andres! Sofia!" A woman around middle thirties maybe, called the two, the two flinching before looking at the woman sheepishly.

"What are you two doing?! You're bothering a stranger! Didn't I tell you two to behave?" The woman glared at the two before looking at Mirabel.

"Sorry 'bout that gal."

Before Mirabel could talk the woman scolded the two kids again.
"Lo siento, mama."

"Apologize to the miss."

The kids apologized to her but Mirabel just smiled it off,
"It's fine really, just let me ask a question instead, is there any place I could stay here as an outsider?"

The woman looked at her strangely while Mirabel sheepishly smile, the boy, if she's correct Andres thought for a bit before lighting up.
"Oh you mean an Inn?"

"Yep." Mirabel smiles popping the 'p'

The boy blushed for a bit before saying proudly, "My family ran an Inn! Are you a tourist miss?"

"...maybe? I don't know actually."

"Is that so?" The girl named Sophia smiled, "anyway welcome to Santa Marta."

The boy then grabbed her hand and dragged her, earning a scold from his mother as Mirabel laughs at how the boy said he's leading a customer to their business.

'So far so good' Mirabel thought to herself.
