"Don't you still have some unfinished business in the states? I mean, you said you would be gone for a couple of days, which might even change into a week. Surely, the business isn't already finished yet." I say in the afternoon, eating my lunch slowly as I stare at Caine. He furrows his eyebrows as he takes a sip from the bottle of water

"Hell, Mia. You're more important than some unfinished fucking business deals." Caine almost sounds angry while saying it, but his eyes shine with adoration and love. He seems angry at me for thinking this way, angry that I can speak those words out loud. I shrug my shoulders, looking at him.

"Look, I didn't mean it like that. I was just curious if you still had unfinished business because if you did, I think it would be good to at least finish the ones you were working on." I say, looking at Caine as I hold out my hand to hold his. He gave me a soft smile, taking my hand in his warm one before replying again.

"I don't want you to think you're less important than my work because you're not. You're the most important thing in the universe for me. I'm almost starting to believe you're my reason for existing as if you're my reason to stroll the earth, looking for the right person. No fucking business deal comes before you, nothing else comes before you. You're my first priority, and the rest can wait. Please, don't you ever think otherwise." Caine looks at me with a passionate expression before coming closer to me.

The moment I feel his lips touch mine is the moment I finally feel all the worries and annoying thoughts about the future leave my head, replaced by the safe feeling I always get when he's near me. It's almost as if the kiss tells me that everything will be alright as long as we're together, fighting our problems together.

I never thought I would meet the person I would want to be with for a lifetime, maybe even longer. I always thought that it wasn't possible to have such strong feelings for someone that they last for longer than a lifetime. Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to find that type of love, a love so strong it could conquer anything. The type of love my parents shared and showed me and my brothers. I just never thought I would be able to find it, something so rare and unique wasn't for everyone to find. It wasn't true, of course. Everyone had a chance at finding that type of love.

"Je t'aime, mon amour," Caine whispers in my ear, breaking our kiss. My cheeks redden at what he said, I had enough French in high school to understand what he was saying. It sounded sexy and hot coming out of his mouth, as did every other word he spoke in French. Not that he spoke French often, but whenever he did, it sounded sexy and hot. Maybe because of the way the foreign language sounded so classic and chic. Sometimes, I wish he would speak french more often, but I couldn't understand much of the language. That point was proven in high school.

"I love you, Caine," I say, kissing him softly one more time. Caine gives me a soft smile, his eyes sparkling with joy and adoration. Who would have thought that we would ever get those words out of our mouths? Yet, here we are, looking at each other like we just realized what love actually is. Like we just realized that this kind of love exists in the world.

"I can't believe it took us six years to realize." I laugh, shaking my head as I continue to laugh. Caine chuckles with me, kissing my cheek softly as he takes place on the bed. He removes a strand of hair from my face, tucking it behind my ear before he answers.

"Oh I might have known it for years that you're the one I want to be with, but I realized it too late six years ago. If I thought I could get to you earlier then I would have. Only because of my irrational decisions, I didn't tell you earlier, my love." Caine whispers as a smile appears on my face and my cheeks redden.

"I love you more than that is comprehendible. I love you with everything I have; mind, body, soul. It's like I was meant to love you, as if you're the reason for my existence, my love. I wouldn't have it any other way." Caine says, his romantic words melting my heart.
