"Alright, so it means it's all cleared? There's not a single article leading back to that event?" I say, trying to ensure that the information I just got from my team is the right one. I don't want to be disappointed later on and find another article that refers back to the car accident or Mia being drugged inside my club. I don't like to be surprised like that.

"Yes, sir. Every single article is out of the air, and we made the relevant news channels sign a document in which they promise to never publish any of this information or clue to this whole situation ever again. Breaking the rules of the contract will lead to us suing the entire company, and they know we never back down unless we get what we want, sir." Jackie, one of my employees from the team explains this to me.  She has been very supportive of this whole situation and made sure the team cleared this as soon as possible. It's the very reason why I've been thinking of making her the leader of the entire team when I'm not in the states for business.

Of course, now that Mia is out of the hospital and recovering here, I have no time to fly back to the states for business. I have been needing to find someone who can replace me whenever I'm not in the states because handling all of those business deals alone isn't an option. Aside from that, my assistant took on parental leave for almost two weeks before deciding to leave the company all of a sudden.

Jackie was the first to initiate taking over some of my huge amount of work while Mia was in the hospital, and she's been doing quite a good job. She's focused, and very organized in her work. She reports everything back to me and waits for my approval on things.

"Thank you, Jackie. I have been meaning to schedule a meeting with you to talk about the last couple of weeks with you. Are you free tomorrow afternoon for an online meeting?" I ask her, knowing that making her my replacement is going to be a good idea. She agrees and we chat a little more before we hang up.

I take a quick look at Mia's closed door, deciding if I should wake her up or if I should let her sleep a little longer. I know she has been hiding how tired she is from everything so I convinced her to get some sleep and take a little nap. She made me promise to wake her up after an hour and a half, but it's been two hours already. I know I promised her, but I think she needs these extra hours of rest. I take another glance at the clock, seeing that it's almost seven o'clock.

I decide to wake her up to see if she wants something for dinner and to tell her this good news. I went to the supermarket earlier this morning because Dylan had no time. Mia convinced me to let her join me and later on to make a stop at a small café to eat something with me for an early lunch. When we got home, I tried to do a little bit of work while she watched a movie on the couch with a large cup of tea.

"Mon amour?" I say quietly after I've opened the door. The room is completely dark, and I can hear her breathing calmly. I slowly walk over to her, seeing her all curled up in the blankets. Her face looks so serene and calm. Her hair is all sprawled across her pillow. It's getting longer again, and I love it. Of course, I liked her short coupe on her. It suited her perfectly fine, but I've always preferred her long hair. I think it suits her more.

"Mon amour, it's time to wake up," I say, kissing her forehead softly as she moves a little. She makes a humming sound in agreement and mumbles something unrecognizable. I can't help but smile at the sleeping woman in front of me. The woman that set fire to my soul and captured it without any knowledge of it. The woman that I love with every I have.

"Love?" I say again, shaking her slowly. I stop once I see her eyes opening slowly, and she blinks a couple of times before she looks at me. She gives me a small smile as she sits straight, groaning softly. Her meds have probably stopped working as she normally takes them right before dinner. I grab her meds from her nightstand, handing her the right ones and a glass of water. She smiles and whispers a soft 'thank you' before taking her meds.
