Day 8

To say that Se-ri was livid was an understatement.

Eight days. Eight. And she was still here on this goddammit island. With the pilot slash CEO slash pianist who looked like he was born in this place. It was humiliating how that guy was pretty much adapted - he knew the way to every place they had found so far, he never got lost, he fished every day and was even managing to season the food. Se-ri didn't ask how. It would be even more humiliating.

"Aish," she muttered, seeing Jeong-hyeok walking over to the cabin all wet after catching some fish that afternoon. "He even looks good while going all Tarzan here."

"I've never caught this one before," Jeong-hyeok said, looking at the fish in his hand. "I was thinking I could try and find a way to grill it."

"Mm. Are you gonna build a grill?" Se-ri said uninterested, popping the last piece of mandarin in her mouth. That would be something, building a grill. The man might as well live here forever if that was the case.

"I think it's possible, there are some tools we don't even know how to use," he replied. That was it. That was the last straw. Se-ri stood up. "If I put them together, I... where are you going?"

Unbelievable.

"I'm going to take a bath," Se-ri said, going inside the cabin to get her things.

"Do you know the way?" He asked quietly.

"Yes, we've been there every day for the past few days," she rolled her eyes. "I need some time alone. Do you realize we haven't been without each other for eight days?"

"Of course," he answered quickly. "You're very noisy sometimes."

"Well, this isn't my idea of having a good time on a paradisiac beach," Se-ri said between her teeth. "Don't expect me for a few hours."

He frowned at the small bag of toiletries. She foregone her lotions and creams. After over a week here, she decided to be sensible about it. She had no idea when they'd be rescued.

"Is that all you need?"

"No, Jeong-hyeok," Se-ri said instantly. "This is not all I need. What I need is my bathtub, a glass of good wine, a scented candle or two, and some relaxing music in the background. And I don't have any of that. For the first time in my life."

Jeong-hyeok's eyes bawled at her. "Okay..."

"I'll be back for dinner," she told him. "Have fun with your grill."

He muttered something she didn't catch and didn't care to know. Se-ri would have stumped her way to the trees if she didn't know it would hurt her knee in the morning. That was what a week without pilates was doing to her.

"Over a week," she fumed to herself upon reaching the trees. "Over a week and I'm still here."

She was supposed to be flying to Paris right now. She'd be expected for the fashion show and so many glamorous events. Her entire trip to Okinawa would have been completely forgotten by then, not to mention her flight with Ri Jeong-hyeok. Even her father had trusted his pilot skills. Se-ri had too, but look where that got her - stranded in a remote place with only fish and mandarins to eat. Among other things.
