Rattle

"...."

Rattle

"Haaaa..." Hennesse nibbled the inside of her cheeks.

"The money was a lot, of course I was tempted to accept." She grumbled.

Hennesse bit her lips in vain.

'Now what?' She held the thick coat tighter as she looked outside the carriage window. Hennesse felt a bit nervous as the carriage neared the snowy mountain.

She was alone in the carriage, with only one companion. A knight who was pretending to be a coachman was ordered to remain by her side to guarantee that she gets to the tribe's territory safely.

'More like to ensure that I'm actually sent to the groom.'

"...." Hennesse leaned on the carriage window.

'I didn't even get to spend half of the money I swindled from the temple...' She thought with a dwelling heart.

"Darn..." She grumbled, cursing under her breath as the carriage shook.

She greatly disliked carriages because of  her motion sickness. And it was solely why Hennesse made sure to bring a lot of scrolls to use.

Though the south was cold because of the winter season, Hennesse did not expect the north to be thrice as cold. She grimaced as she watched the heavy snowfall through the carriage window.

Unlike her always sunny village, the north was dull and cold.

Rattle

Hennesse released a breath as she recalled the moment she arrived in the north. Upon her arrival, she was warmly greeted by the ducal family who treated her nicely. She was even surprised that they prepared the warm clothes and necessities that she needed in the cold north.

'They must really love their daughter to offer such amount.' She thought as she remembered the relieved faces of the duke and his family.

"Ah, they're loaded rich anyway." She flailed her hand.

'Anyway, I wonder if the groom is handsome.'

Rattle

'If he is, then I'll gladly stay longer.'

'-then I'll have no problem fulfilling my duty as a wife, even if it's only temporary~'

"I love beautiful men." She joyed.

She couldn't help but purse her lips as she remembered the words of Yvonne, the woman who she'll pretend to be.

'So if I understand correctly, I have to at least pretend for a month... And after that, I can go back by faking Yvonne's death?'

Hennesse sighed. "That's a lot of work. But a month is not that bad."

'But besides that, how long does it take to get to the territory?'

"Heuk-!" Hennesse was caught off guard because of the sudden increase of speed of the carriage.

"Agh..." She held onto her seat, feeling her worsening motion sickness. Hennesse reached her hand to cover her mouth.

'Please don't let me vomit...'

After holding on for a short while, the moment she had been waiting have finally come. The carriage had finally halted into a stop.
