A/N: Hi, I know I haven't posted in like a month, so I'm sorry about that. I've been really busy and procrastinating and also sick and then I've been on vacation and had a birthday and a lot of stuff had been going on and did I mention I'm still sick? Anyway, I'm sorry that I haven't posted in a while and I'm trying to post more. I hope you like this chapter!

Rosa stared at Klaus awkwardly as she felt the eyes of all the others switch from her to Klaus. She was seated at one end of the table and Klaus at the other. He had set up a dinner in the courtyard of their new home—well Klaus's old home, to celebrate his return to leadership.

Suddenly Klaus took his glass and tapped his fork against it, causing a chime. He then began to speak.

"Let us begin with a toast to our shared gift: immortality. After a thousand years, one might expect life to be less keenly felt, for its beauties and it's sorrows do diminish with time. But, as vampires, we feel more deeply than humans could possibly imagine."

Klaus gestures towards the group of waiters and waitresses entering. Soon enough, there is one standing by each guest. Rosa sighed as she looked at the scene.

"Insatiable need, exquisite pain..." The waiters then slit their wrists with the knives set on the table, and held them over each cup, letting them fill with the dark and heavy red blood. "Our victories, and our defeats." Klaus finished, his eyes staring into Marcel's.

Rosa looked down at the cup of blood in front of her, purple veins appearing under her eyes. She didn't get what Klaus was trying to do. What could possibly be the point of all of this.

Klaus raised his glass, "To my city, my home again. May the blood never cease to flow..."

Rosa turned to Marcel who also raised his glass, "...and the party never end!"

"To New Orleans." One of the vampires said, raising his glass.

"To New Orleans!" Klaus repeated.

Rosa looked around as the rest of the vampires repeated it. Finally everyone started to take a drink and despite Rosa's original dismay in how Klaus acquired the blood, she took relief in taking the first sip.

Klaus once again began to talk. "I understand that some of you may have questions regarding the recent change in leadership, and I invited you here tonight to assure you that you are not defeated. No, my intentions moving forward are to celebrate what we have. What Marcel, in fact, took and built for this true community of vampires."

"What about her?" The vampire from before asked, looking at Rosa.

Rosa side-eyed him, but Klaus shook his head, calming her slightly. "Had you let me finish, Diego, you would know that there is, of course, one further matter I would like to address." Klaus walked over to the other end of the table, standing right behind Rosa. As many of you know, Rosalina, here, is carrying my child. Consequently, I trust you will all pay her the appropriate respect. However, I understand that some of you are concerned by this vicious rumor that I intend to use the blood of our child to create hybrids. I assure you I do not." He said forcefully.
