Jackie's POV
Later on that day,

"Who was that girl you were talking to Jackie?" My father decided to ask me as soon as we got to the dinner table.

In front of my siblings and my mother. Embarrassing. I know they're gonna try to be nosey later on.

If I don't tell him he's gonna keep bothering me about it so I might as well.

"Girl I like." I replied without looking at him and eating my food.

He looked at me.

"What did I tell you about those girls at your school?... they're bad for business. Those girls at your school-" I cut him off by mocking him.

"are nothing but trouble, they'll mess up your dreams and what we have planned." I said in his voice. And my brothers started snickering and laughing even my mother giggled a little bit.

He banged on the table to stop the laughter which made us jump.

It worked.

"You call yourself tryna get on my bad side boy?!" He said in a stern voice and stared at me.

I stared back at him and I rolled my eyes "mother can I be excused?" I asked her .

"Go ahead baby. Everyone else if your done eating go get ready for bed." My mother replied.

"You come with me Joseph. Now." She said to him and walked to the room.

Joseph looked at me and walked with her .

I just got up and stormed upstairs to my room shutting the door.

I started to get dressed.

Katherine's POV
"Joseph leave those boys alone ." I said to him for the god knows what Time .

"They just don't listen. I break my neck for these boys, next week we have a competition and all they care about is unnecessary things like girls, she's gonna mess up his life-" I cut him off.

"Joseph cut the shit. Alright? Let. him. live." I said out of frustration. I don't usually swear at Joseph but he's really getting on my nerves right now.

"Jackie is 17! You can't keep treating these boys like they can't have a life! Jackie is a handsome young man he attracts females and that's okay!" I said sternly

"NONSENSE!..that girl is gonna ruin his DREAM KATY!" Joseph yelled

"HIS DREAM OR YOURS JOSEPH?!!?" I yelled back.

He stayed silent.

"If he like a girl so what?? Hm? You expect him to like men??!??" I said sternly.

He looked at me like I was crazy.

"That's what I thought. Leave that boy be. if he likes a girl then he likes a girl. Your making this a big deal and all he said was he liked her . He didn't say nothing about dating her. And if he does want to date her that's his decision to decide not mine or yours!" I raised my voice .
