Agh that's a hard one! I think there were a lot of different aspects. One was I just was so devestated that Padmé died and it was hard not to dream up
'what-if' scenarios. At the time I was thinking of different 'what-ifs' I was reading a lot of historical fiction about empresses and royalty and all that good stuff and I was like wouldn't it be interesting to see Padmé rule again when she's older? Like how would that experience, along with her husband's defection to the dark side, change her?
I don't think Padmé had enough screen-time in ROTS and I thought it would be so interesting to see how her perspective would be had she survived Mustafar. So then it just kind of came to me, like what would happen if she and Anakin ruled the galaxy? it was kind of like that 'Whoa' moment
Honestly I thought the idea was a bust and so when I saw that people were actually reading, commenting and voting, I was mind-blown!!
