Dead body:

Wake up! I'm bored.

You:

1; no. 2; wth are you doing awake? It's like 5 AM.

Dead body:

It's literally lunchtime.

You:

Same thing.

Dead body:

Then why are you awake?

You:

'cause I can, ugly.

Dead body:

And who said I can't?

You:

Me.

Dead body:

And since when can you give me orders?

You:

Since that day I founded you dead on the floor. Remember? It was like 5 years ago.

Dead body:

It was last week.

You:

Same thing.

Dead body:

Shouldn't have talked to you, now I'm tired again.

You:

Normal, it's only 5 AM!

Dead body:

I give up.

You:

As you should, because I won't.

This kind of dumb short conversations started being a habit between the two boys. Most of the time Gregory would start talking, Evan would find something to make fun of him, and a contest would start, making them both laugh from their houses. They did not meet again since the day they first talked, because unfortunately, Gregory had lots and lots of work. Evan was his friend, sure, but his grades have always been and will always be his first preoccupation. That was in his personality, and no friendship could change that. Even though, they planned meeting Sunday afternoon, which means in only some hours. Evan explained to Gregory that their house were only a few minutes away from each other, and that they could meet in a small playground situated between the two.

As Gregory arrived, he sat down on the creaky old swing (which didn't seem very stable) of the small forgotten place. The play-structures where broken, or really dirty for the most of them. behind Gregory, a amount of big trees, separating the park of some old, lifeless houses. In front of him, a fence with a small gate protecting the kids from running to a road, where no cars were to be seen.

Approximately five minutes after Gregory's arrival, a person arrived from the wood in the other side of the silent road. The smaller boy came, sitting down on the floor next to his friend.

<< - Why don't you sit on the slide? >>

Gregory said pointing at the old slide in front of him.

<< - Yes but no. It's not the first time i come here, and I can tell you that the swing is pretty much the only "solid" structure.

- You consider this thing as "solid"? Boy do you live in a cardboard box?

- How ironic you're saying that, poor.

- I'm not poor, my paternal is. >>

Evan started looking a bit stressed.

<< - I'm so sorry I didn't knew!

- Do I look mad or something? >>

Evan looked up at the dark eyed boy.

<< - No?

- Then shut up.

- Fiiine. I just felt bad for you.

- You're talking like I have no food to eat.

- You do have? I mean look at you you're so skinny!

- That's because I'm too busy to eat.

- Doing what?

- Homework

- Ah yes, priorities.

- Yep. >>

Evan sighed, looking up at the road as a car passed for the first time.

<< - Is it always this silent here?

- Yes.

- I like this place.

- Me too. Wanna come back tomorrow?

- I have school.

- After school?

- Homework. >>

The blue eyed boy sighed, looking sadly at the floor. Then, suddenly, he looked up at Gregory.

<< - What if I come to your place?

- To do what?

- Help you so you end your homework faster and we can play Mario cart!

- Don't you have homework to do young man?

- No sir.

- Will your parents let you come over?

- Yes sir. >>

He just needs to pretend that Gregory is rich and that's it. Easy.

<< - Then you can't.

- What? Why?

- Because my father won't let you in.

- Didn't you tell me that you're here against his wish.

- Smart. You've got the point.

- Can I come then.

- You'll need another point. Why should I let you enter my room?

- Because I'm pretty.

- That does not count.

- Because I won't steal your money.

- What money?

- Exactly.

- That's it. See you tomorrow. >>

Evan smiled proudly, looking at me as I started walking away.

<< - Hehe >>
