Dale shows us around his rv. "Heres the food, we have some books" he says. I grab one that I used to read all the time, coraline. "You like that book?" He asks me. "Yeah. It's my favorite". "I normally am on watch on top of the rv. So if you need anything I'm upstairs. Do you guys have a tent?" He asks. We nod. "You can set it up right by the rv." We do as he says and get our tent. Glenn is having struggles as I'm grabbing stuff from the car. "Glenn have you even set this up before?" I ask. He looks at me before looking back at the tent "no". I laugh and go inside of it. "You need to set the pole up inside before you start doing that." I say. "Howd you know that?" He asks. "My grandpa"

I miss my grandpa. We were so close. I hope hes okay. I really do. We finish setting up the tent. I start to bring stuff in there. Glenn has one side, I have the other. "I'm gonna go get to know Amy. She seems cool" I say as i walk out of the tent. I find her with the clothes basket. "You want some help?" I ask her. "Oh sure". I sit down and start cleaning. "Where were you when it started?" She asks me. "I was home alone watching tv, when glenn was delivering pizzas to me and he brought me to Atlanta. I had no clue who he was but out of the good in his heart he took me with him. My parents were on a business trip" I say

"What about you?" I ask. "Pretty much the same. Andrea came in screaming and our town had gotten overrun by them. We headed towards Atlanta and shane and his people picked us up" she says. "Shane seems really welcoming. I'm happy hes here" I say. "Me too". "How old are you?" I ask. "16. I'm turning 17 in a couple days. What about you?". She asks. "Almost 16". We finished cleaning the clothes. "Thank you for helping me-. Wait. I'm sorry what was your name again?" She asks. "Y/n" "that's really pretty" "thanks. Yours is too" I say. "Bye y/n" "bye amy".

I go back over to glenn "amy was pretty nice" I say. "Dale is so funny. You should hang out with us tonight" he says "yea sure". I sit and read coraline until supper. "Hey y/n come eat" glenn says. "Ok one second". I go over and sit by Glenn. Its macaroni. "Cool". I better enjoy meals like macaroni while we still have it. We finish eating. I go to the top of Dale's rv with Glenn. "Hey dale" glenn says. Dale jumps "oh hey Glenn. And y/n right?" He asks. I nod my head.

"So what do you guys want?" He asks. "Nothing. We're just bored" I say. "What's that knife look like that you've got on your belt?" Dale asks. "I dont know. Glenn gave it to me" I take it out. The handle is brown and heavy. The blade looks normal but theres something written in korean on it. "What does that say?" I ask glenn. "I might be korean but I cannot read it" he says with a laugh. "My parents would probably know. We moved from Korea before I learned how to read".

I hand the knife to dale. He looks at it for a second before handing it back. "That's a nice knife" "thanks". "Well I think I'm gonna hit the hay. Will one of you take watch?" He asks. "Yeah" me and glenn both say. Dale goes down. "Why did you give me your dads knife?" I ask. "I meant to give you the other one. That one is really special. It's been passed down generations in my family." He says. "Do you want it back? I'll take the one you meant-" I start before he interrupts me "no. I'm supposed to give it to my kid when I have any. In this world, i think you're the closest to one I'm gonna get." He says. "You think of me as your kid?" I ask. "Kind of. Me and you have gotten a kind of bond just over these last couple days that you might as well be". He says and smiles.

Shane comes up on the rv. "You two better get to bed. I'll take watch" he says. Me and glenn climb down "goodnight shane" "goodnight y/n and Glenn" he says. "Hes the first person who remembered my name today" I whisper to Glenn. We go into the tent. "Goodnight glenn" "goodnight princess" he says. "Dont call me that". I fall asleep.
