(My favorite shot I took while we were here)

In Anderson, South Carolina an abandoned bridge sits across its replacement rotting away. Hight Shoals Road Bridge was built between 1915 and 1930. It was the main road bridge until 1987 when it was replaced with a more modern bridge. Both bridges still stand today, next to each other.

Now High Shoals Road Bridge has a terrible legend connected to it. Now the legend is different depending on what you read about this bridge. Now any legend around High Shoals bridge has one shared detail.  A woman with a child. Now here is where the legends differ, some say the woman dropped the baby off the bridge. While others say the woman was carrying an illegitimate baby and committed suicide by jumping off the bridge. Because of these legends, High Shoals Bridge has been given the nickname Cry Baby Bridge due to people reporting hearing a baby crying when they are on the bridge.

Fun fact, when my partner and I were exploring we found a cat and named it Baby. Don't worry we took the cat to a shelter.
