Our love blossomed quickly into a dark red rose
But I didn't know of the fatal thorns that would growOur love weaved and thrived through the holes in my heart
Blood stained the pure growing green, we could never be apartI couldn't breathe, yet I didn't know how to leave
Toxicity filled my lungs, making me gasp and seek new airI saw a tulip so beautiful and bright
I tried to reach towards its lightBut your vines dug deep into my skin, roses spread and ate me from within
I never got that breath of fresh air
My eyes glossed over and gave you that empty stare
