He never went onto the field as himself when trying to investigate someone as he never felt the need to. He thought that lurking behind corners, bars, and alleyways was the best way to find information or having another person from his firm do so.

But this Mantis was a different case. The girl had high-level security everywhere and every time. Mae didn't like the thought of bodyguards or security, thinking there was no point in them and that she could hold her own, but her dad didn't like the idea and had ears and eyes all over the city, without Mae knowing any of it.

And if they see a random figure following the most influential person in this generation, his ass in a ditch.

That's why he was here, sitting in the DuBois Enterprise lobby, waiting for a job interview.

The brunette fixed his glasses as he felt the palms of his hands sweating up a storm. He looked at the other people in the lobby, waiting for their interviews too. Some of them were ecstatic, rehearsing under their breath what to say to Mantis as she wouldn't just see right through them. Some having full-on panic attacks, shuffling to call their moms and dads to arrange their funerals, and others looked like they were straight up ready to clone Mantis, smiling and not moving, trying to act normal.
