#4 | Newt tries to kill himself

Scenario: Newt was your boyfriend. You and him both shared the same job in the glade as runners, that's what brought you together. But recently, Newt hadn't been himself, he never smiled as much anymore and was always miserable when he wasn't with you. But one day you realise that everything would change.

Fanfiction:

All runners had the day off today as Minho and Alby were working on afew things in the maze and didn't want any runners to be in their way whilst they work. So you spent the day in the hammock resting. Usually, Newt is with you but who knows where he has gone off too. A while later it was lunch time and there was still no sign of Newt, you missed him but you didn't think anything of it.

Later on, Alby comes rushing over to trying to pull you towards one of the maze doors

"(Y/N) come quickly its Newt!"

Your heart sinks and you jump up and run as fast as you could along side Alby. By the time you reach the maze doors you can see Minho and Clint carrying Newt who was bleeding badly and unconscious. Rushes of mixed emotions coursed through your body confusion, terror, sadness. Without hesitation, you help carry Newt to homestead with tears streaming down your face.

"Oh my god ,Minho what happened to him?!"

You choke on your words as the sadness burns your throat. You can see Minho and Alby are almost more upset and confused as you. Minho finally answers your undying question

"we don't know. . me and Alby were coming back from some maintenance in he maze we found him on the floor passed out but there was one of Gally's ladders propped against a tree. We think Newt might of tried to climb the walls of the maze and he slipped and fell"

The tears flood even further and soon the whites of your eyes tint red from all the crying you have done. You Finally arrive at homestead where the Medjacks put him in a bed and take care of him. Once the Medjacks had treated Newt as much as they could they encouraged you to go get some rest but you insisted on staying with Newt. The Medjacks didn't protest and let you pull up a chair next to Newts bed.

Once the Medjacks had left, you finally got a chance to properly look at him although, the room wasn't well lit with only one lantern in the room still giving off light source. His leg is a mess, broken and bloody but his face looks peaceful apart from the fact it looks paler than ever. You didn't realise till now that the tears had stopped. You lean forward and brush Newts sandy blonde hair away and plant a kiss on his forehead.

-afew hours later-

Newt wakes in the middle of the night whilst you're still awake. You peer over him and for a second he see's you and smiles and you smile back with several tears trailing down your cheek from this happy reunion. But he sits up and looks around the room realising where he was and his face instantly scrunches up and he begins to sob.

"I thought it was over (Y/N) I thought I was dead"

You instantly take him into your arms and hug him as he cries into your shoulder. You are speechless.

"I'm sorry (Y/N) I shouldn't have done it. I jumped . . . I'm so sorry"
