━━ ERINA SATO WASN'T A HERO. Her life had been derailed at the age of eight by one mistake her father had made, leading to his death and a fate much worse than death for her. What family she had left, they assumed she had been killed like her father. But, she continued to live in Gotham under the care of people the city liked to avoid. Care was a strong word, considering they had taken a young girl and turned her into a monster.

Carnage became all she knew, acting out horrific deeds to keep her family safe from the same hands that puppeteered her. All she wanted was to make a safe return home, but with each kill she carried out, she drifted further and further from human. She became what she feared most. She was a monster and it was what she was praised for. Hatred was a strong emotion, turning her heart into a pit of darkness. And, with that same heart, she made company with death itself.

Her life had fallen into a routine of working as a waitress at a diner that had seen better days, but she always waited for that one phone call. Or, sometimes, a letter left inside her apartment with the details of her next target. Erina had no choice but to comply, wanting to keep her family safe from the monsters that moved in the shadows. But, her routine takes a turn when her paths cross the Batman.

NOTE.
So, this book was abandoned about a year ago but after watching the Batman, my inspiration came back! I made a few changes to the plot to fit the movie, but I will draw inspiration from multiple sources! One of the first things I want to say is that this book won't focus on the romance! Instead, it'll focus on Erina and her life because I wanted to write something that's darker than my usual fics. And, I figured a Batman fic exploring the darker parts of human nature might be the best! Still, I do want some sort of redemption arc for Erina, but that doesn't mean she's a good person.

Also, I might write another Bruce Wayne fic that isn't so dark and focused more on the romance aspect too! But, I haven't made too many plans for that fic yet! I should post all my drafts for my DC fics, honestly! I am not sure if they will be connected like my Marvel series, but we'll see!

BUT, I ALSO WANTED TO MENTION THAT THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR THE BATMAN! Even though, there are influences from other Batman media, this book will mainly draw from the new movie! So, please don't read if you haven't seen the movie yet because there will be spoilers!
