Welcome to The Familiar!
I started this story as an entry for ONC 2022. I chose to write off of two prompts:
#26 After the Alpha's oldest child dies, the younger one struggles to live up to his legacy.
#22 For sixteen years your family has waited and watched, hoped and prepared. You were cared for but never truly acknowledged. It left you wondering why you've always felt like an outcast, a little bit of a burden. Today you discover they knew all about the curse...they all knew you were chosen to carry it.
Sadly this year I wasn't able to complete the story in time for the judging.
Instead, I hope to post one chapter a week until the story is complete so we will see how it goes.
As always, constructive criticism makes me a better writer, and I would love to hear your opinions as the story progresses!
