you and vinnie had just ordered dessert, and were waiting for your cake slices to be ready.
"hey v, i'll be back in a sec. don't eat my slice if the food comes while i'm gone."

you traced your throat straight across with your finger, a silent threat.
he chuckled as you turned around to make your way to the bathroom, your phone left face-up on the table.
a perfect night gone to shit in a matter of minutes,
seconds even.
when you came back, your phone was in vinnie's hand, his brows furrowed and jaw clenched so hard the vein in his neck was prominent.
what could have possibly pissed him off that quickly?
you sat back down in the booth, across from him.
"no cake yet?"
"why's daniel texting you?"
"what?"
"why is daniel texting you?"
"how would i know? what did he even text me?"
"y/n, please don't lie to me."
"why do you automatically assume i'm lying to you?"

"can you at least show me what he said? he hasn't texted me in forever. i'm not going to know what he wants, vinnie."
