Drugs. Alcohol. Lights. Music.

What was supposed to be just a small party turned into a large one in a span of hours. I shouldn't even be here, I would rather be at home studying or have a pamper spa night. But here I am, with a black dress and a pair of nike low dunks, my hair is in a clip due to the heatness in here.

I make my way to the bar, a headache starts to appear due to the lack of stress and food. Before I go, I let my friends know, but they probably don't care. they never do, I'm just there, watching them live the life of the party. It hurts to admit but I'm always there for them but they're never there for me when I need them the most.

Like last year when I had my breakup with a boyfriend of 2 years. I cried to them, needing a shoulder to rely on, but all I received was "suck it up, its life".

When I sit on a stool I sigh deeply but pull myself together. I order a whiskey on the rocks, immediately relaxing once it hits my system, even feeling the burning and cool sensation going down to my stomach.

I pick at some peanuts and eat them silently, I'm bored... clearly. I'm in my own world once again...

Suddenly, my focus is to my left. A young lad dressed with a brown hoodie with some ripped jeans takes the stool next to me. A whiff of his cologne blinds my senses, he smells so good. I make eye contact with him, and I flush. This man is so attractive...

Suddenly my gaze drops to my hand on my thigh. I looked around before I began to fidget with my rings. I do it out of being nervous and anxious.

"Hello, I haven't seen you around here before" his voice startles me. I take in his features, his brown eyes, his chiseled beard, his gorgeous hair. He does the same, his eyes roam down on me. Hell, if I wasn't nervous before I sure am now.

"Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Ella, and yes, I'm not usually the "going out" type of person." I finally grew confidence and answered, I smiled and chuckled softly.

"Pleasure is all mine, my name is Mason. Ah I see, but to be honest same. My friends dragged me along tonight, I expected a small get together but here we are" he answers truthfully, making eye contact again.

"Crowded parties make me anxious, plus not having your friends nearby adds to it" I break eye contact and look down. I take a sip off my drink, I feel his gaze staring at me as I do so.

A vibration is heard from my phone as a message appears.

Grace
We left the party was too crowded.

Well great, I let out a small groan and sigh.

"Is everything okay? You seem agitated?" he asks.

"My friends ditched me... again. I feel like it's a constant pattern with them. I'm always there but not really there. When they need me I'm always caring and understanding, but when roles are switched it's different" I admit to the stranger, but I realize what I just did "My apologies, I didn't mean to blabber, it's a habit I guess?"

"No please continue, you truly don't deserve it Ella. I've noticed you tonight, theyre in their own world, you trying to fit in but ignored. I can tell you're a genuine and sincere person" he smiles and I blush slightly.

"Well if you insist..." we laugh and clink our glasses.

Throughout the night I forget were even at a party. It was just the two of us, in our own little bubble. Throughout the night, the laughter and stories we experienced, I got to know more about him, and he with me. I now know he's a professional athlete, shocking I guess. He has a niece on the way, and he's a family person. He's also very honest and kind, handsome too...
