Summary: when cross and epic first met it was love at first sight. Even with Xgasters overwrites and cross being rewritten he still falls in love with epic again. For Epic it breaks his soul having  cross not remembering who he was due to the overwrites, and he fears that one day Cross won't love him due to XGaster overwrites.
