Peniel's POV
«Don't eat?! Why did you put it here then? This is the family's refrigerato-»
«Don't talk to me, I'm busy and don't eat the cupcakes either.» I told my older sister.
«What are you doing?» She asked.
«Maths.»
«Uh-oh... okay, I'll leave ya here.»
I'm glad to finally have quiet surroundings. I am counting the money I earned for the last two days that I went with Hyunsik. I went to the Born to Beat website... «I can't believe I'm doing this.» I said to myself.
My jaw dropped when I realized the money I earned weren't enough to buy ticket for the VIP section. The fact that I wanted to buy two, for me and her, makes me consider myself as a stupid human being.
Soon, I find myself looking for part-time jobs on the internet. «I must be desperate to make her happy...» I said to myself again.
«Money is not what makes a girl happy.» my sister said behind me.
I almost jumped. «Why do you just show up like that? Gimme a warning!»
«Did you hear what I said? It's not the money that makes a girl happy!» she repeats.
I rolled my eyes. «Unfortunately, it is. She'll be in cloud nine if I buy her concert tickets.»
She sighed. «Well... is it Yejin?»
My eyes widened. «W-what?»
She grinned. «You think I don't know about your dirty little secret? Don't let me clean your room then.»
My mouth hang open. «You... looked at my things!»
«In all fairness, you're good in photography. She almost seemed like a model in your shots-»
«Don't do it again.» I said and left her in the living room.
Actually, I have a photo album of her. I usually photograph food, but she is included in my sceneries. I practice photography a lot so I'll be ready, at least, in college. I enjoy videos and making animations, too.
I took the photo album from under my bed and opened it. All of them are polaroid shots. Closed-up or not, she looks beautiful. She always poses for a photo without even asking if she looks good in it or not. She doesn't even ask me about them. It's like something normal to her because she's used to see me capturing things even people sometimes.
..
I found a part-time job as a waiter in a restaurant and I'll start on the 30th of January.
Prom night is coming near, too. I can't even think about it anymore. All I think about is I'm running late in earning enough money for the concert tickets.
I had to work from two o'clock in the afternoon, so I cut classes from there. I'd say I'm sick or if they don't believe me, I escape. I've been working for four days now and it's not easy! It's tiring because I have to work until 8 o'clock, then study for school. Wake up at six and go to school.
«Is there something you want to tell me?» Yejin asked while we were on the bus on the way home.
«Huh?» I asked yawning.
«Why do you always look tired?» she asked worrying.
I smiled and pet her head. «I'm okay!»
«Stop doing that to my hair! It's always in a mess because of you.» she said. Then she turned to me with her serious pretty face. «But seriously, what's wrong? You always cut classes too. Wait, don't tell me you're rebelling?! » she asked, her eyes widened.
