Chapter 44

Danny's POV

My hands were shaking as I was looking at the front page of the paper. There was picture of that stupid mask which made my burn from the rage. While I had to take some time off from killing so I could heal my leg, he started to grow people's fear of him. They even believed that he killed me. Me?! The fucking Ghostface! I wanted to kill him already but there was nothing I could do with an injured leg. So I had to stay here with (Y/n) or go to work to listen to Liam's crying about his dead wife.

"Danny the breakfast is ready." I smile to her as I turn my gaze from the paper. "I'll be there in a minute honey!" She smiles back before she goes in the kitchen. She seems to be more happier than before we were at our last apartment. I think she believes that she is safe from Ghostface but I had to get back to that maybe even tonight. My leg didn't anymore after four wees so I think I was good to go. But before that I need to get to the work.

I get up and walk in the kitchen. She had done some sandwiches with coffee. She was so adorable when she was playing little house wife that it made my love for her even stronger. Thankfully I convinced her to cut all contact with her crazy uncle. The nerve of him to invite her to meet him. Thankfully she asks my permission about these things now days. Since I'm the only one who can keep her safe from all that.

I start to eat my breakfast as she tells me everything she is going to do today. Mostly cleaning the house and unpacking some things that were still in the boxes. She needs to take things easily so nothing bad would happen to the babies. My gaze shifts from her face to her stomach. I don't know if I was happy about them anymore since I know they would take (Y/n)'s attention from me. But they were going to carry about my legacy.

"I think I need to get to work." She seems to be surprised about my words since she nods sadly. "I understand." She says sadly so I smile. Time to make her want more. "But don't worry dear. I'll be here so soon that you won't even know I'm gone." I stand up and walk over to her. She smiles happily as I gave her a quick kiss. "Please be safe out there." I smirk at her concern about me. Just perfect for me!

"Of course I will. There's no way I'll leave you all alone in this cold cruel world." She puts her hand to my chest where she takes a gentle hold. "I'll call you during the day okay? Just to make sure that everything is fine." I laugh at her cuteness. "Call as many times you want. I will pick up as soon as I can." I break the contact with her which seems to bother her but it makes me just feel better while knowing that she would be over the moon when I get back home.

I park my car before I start heading for the office building. After Emily died boss hired a new secretary who was far better than her. Maybe because they were older and more mature than that nutcase? I walk in to see the new secretary Tina sits there with a sour look on her face. "You are late." That was the first thing that she says to me which makes me smirk. "Just a couple of minutes. So what's going on here today?"

She doesn't seem to be happy as she turns to look at the papers. "Boss is angry since somehow a gruesome picture got in the paper. The FBI agent is here yelling at him while Liam is probably still crying his eyes out in the men's bathroom over his dead wife. So I would say it will be pretty shitty day." I was little shocked. I haven't read our paper today so I didn't have no idea about these events.

"What picture?" I say to her as I take the paper only to be met by a gruesome murder picture of that copycat asshole with his newest victim. I felt sick since the whole city seems to have forgotten Ghostface and now they are afraid of this motherfucker. "Fuck me..." I whisper as Tine hums. "That's just awful. The family of the victim even wants to sue us." I nod as I take the paper with me. "Thank you for the brief chat. See you later."
