A/N: Yeah.. I know it's been a while.. I'm so sorry about that everyone. I'm working on another chap rn and I'll definitely be sure to get the next one out long before another year passes. This one is a little shorter than usual because I'm sick of stalling but it should hopefully be enjoyable anyway. Anyway, on with the story and enjoy everyone! (:

Soft snores sounded from the girl resting on the couch, her head rolled to one side. Her breaths rose softly in her chest as she napped. A knife was clenched tightly in one hand, ready to be used if the situation presented itself. Alex was not a heavy sleeper, and the minute the sound of tires rolling on gravel could be heard outside, she was on her feet, pointing the knife clumsily in front of her.
"I'm up, I'm up," she mumbled, fighting to keep her eyes open. A few seconds later, her phone rang.
"I'm outside." Caleb sounded both worried and slightly annoyed.
"I'm coming." Alex hung up the phone and slung her backpack over her shoulder after quickly checking to make sure her weapons were ready. She walked out, the front door slamming hard behind her. She trudged up the path and was greeted by a tight hug from Caleb.
"I was so worried.." he whispered.
"I'm sorry," Alex whispered back. "I swear I'm fine."
"I saw your text, I don't suppose you plan on telling me what you need my car for." He chuckled lightly, but there was fear escaping in his voice.
"Not yet. You can't come either." She pulled away from the hug. "Look at me." He turned to her and waited silently. "I swear I will tell you everything when I get back. It's a lot, so I'll understand if you don't want to be my friend anymore. But you deserve the truth, Caleb."
Caleb sighed and looked up at the sky. Alex copied, noticing the bright-yellowish full moon. She gulped, almost regretting what she was about to use Caleb's car for. But her job was to defeat monsters. All monsters, including human ones if need be. So she gently pried the car keys from Caleb's hand, and replaced them with her house keys. Then she slowly backed up. "There's beer in the fridge, and food if you get hungry. I'll be back as soon as possible. I promise to be careful."
Not wanting to stall any longer, Alex opened the door and jumped into the driver's seat, slinging her bag onto the passenger seat. She turned the key in the ignition, and the engine roared to life. In the back of her mind, she wished it was the Impala she was sitting in, and that Sam and Dean were next to her. But they weren't. And this wasn't the Impala. She pulled away from the curb after one last look at Caleb, and drove off into the night.

The drive to Port Angeles was long and boring in the dark. Alex felt herself drift to sleep a few times, an incredibly dangerous risk, but she refused to stop. She increased her speed to far above the speed limit, and ignored the chug of the engine. She turned the radio to a high volume in an attempt to stay awake, and the blare of an annoying pop song appeared to do the trick.
Finally, she entered the small town, grateful for the streetlights. She just barely remembered the spot that Edward had saved Bella in. By now, it was deserted, but Alex knew the perpetrators wouldn't have gone far. She continued to drive through Port Angeles, looking for any sign of those men. As she drove though, she noticed a familiar car. Edward's car. It was pulled up in front of a dive bar, the engine idling. She parked close by and noticed the passenger door open. He stepped out.
"Carlisle.." she whispered faintly under her breath. Realizing she said that out loud, she quickly covered her mouth with her hand and ducked out of sight. Shit. Why did I say that out loud? She peeked out and saw Carlisle's head twitch slightly in her direction. She ducked again, but still watched through the windshield. The driver's side of the car opened, and unsurprisingly, Edward stepped out. He appeared to exchange a few quick words with Carlisle, glared at the dive bar, and quickly raced into the woods. Alex watched Carlisle walk towards a back door into the bar, and she took her chance.
