"Why'd you bring me here Wilbur? Isn't it a little risky to be so close to Las Nevadas?"

"It's a calculated risk. Besides this is our burger van, we have the right to drop by every once in a while."

Ranboo was fidgeting with his fingers as the two stood outside their van. This was the first time he got to go anywhere outside of his home in Snowchester. Dream insisted that he shouldn't get to go anywhere because he didn't want to risk Ranboo running into Tubbo or anyone else who could possibly expose the truth. So Wilbur, yet again, twisted the selfish reason into a lie that tricked Ranboo into thinking they were keeping him safe. Wilbur claimed he shouldn't see too many people or sights because he might get overstimulated.

"So uh- are we here to grill burgers?"

Ranboo commented sarcastically and Wilbur chuckled, shaking his head as he sat down at one of the benches and patted the spot next to him.

"I thought we could reminisce a bit."

Wilbur stated simply as Ranboo sat next to him. Wilbur had noticed and started looking at a ring on one of Ranboo's horns and he had a soft smile on his face as he pointed it out.

"I don't think I've ever noticed that before. Is there a story behind it?"

It took ranboo a minute to figure out what he was talking about. The truth was he hardly messed with the ring. It's not like he forgot about it- it was just always with him and a part of him now. Ranboo blinked a few times then quickly nodded. He reached up and with a little struggle took the ring off.

"It's my wedding ring."

Wilbur stared at it as Ranboo explained and held it out so Wilbur could get a better look.

"It's beautiful. Does Tubbo have one too?"

That might have been a seemingly stupid question but Wilbur genuinely never noticed either of the boys wearing a ring.

"Yeah, he does."

Ranboo then sighed and clenched his ring in his hand looking towards Las Nevadas.

"I think I need to see Tubbo. I can't imagine what he is going through. Having to look after Michael all alone? Plus he still thinks I'm dead."

"We talked about why you can't see him. It's too dangerous. Especially with Quackity always being around him. I'm sorry but if you visit him you could be putting you both in serious danger. But I promise once this is all over you both will finally be able to relax."

Wilbur used what should have been an innocent discussion about an object that should have made Ranboo happy as an additional reason why Ranboo should be fighting against Quackity.

"I'm just not sure about that last part. What about Dream? Do you trust him?"

"Enough."

"Enough? That's not filling me with confidence."

"I won't lie and tell you I fully trust him. But he revived me- and you. He hasn't really wronged me. So there is no reason not to trust him."

"What about Tommy?"

"I have that sorted. I'm making sure Tommy is safe through all this. He probably will never look at me the same but I'm doing this for him. I want to give my family and friends a safe place to live with no strings attached. And Quackity is the only one holding us back from that."

Ranboo looked away a bit unsettled by his words. He didn't even know why- what Wilbur said was good. Regardless it gave Ranboo a sinking feeling. Probably because he knew deep down Dream was still dangerous and not to be trusted.
