My Mate is a Mermaid?!

Chapter 29

Derrick's POV:

It's been about a week. The Luna and my father are both home safe. They were sad to hear Marina left. Olivia has been executed and the former Gamma has been banished. It's good to have peace in our pack once again. But..there's one thing missing...Marina. It would have been nice of she could see this. The Luna says that Michael has done a great job of running the pack without his mother's help, he's going to become Alpha next week! I don't think he's exactly thrilled at the idea. I'm not sure he wants to be Alpha anymore. But I know part of him does. For the pack, his mom, dad, grandfather, his friends, and his mate. He goes down to the beach often..Perhaps hoping to spot Marina. But he never does see her. I know if he could, he'd go after her. But her can't. None of us can. My father was told that Marina was a mermaid. The look on his face was pretty funny! I wonder sometimes, why her hair didn't change back to it's normal color when she was transformed back into a mermaid. I mean, she doesn't need it anymore. It was a sign of what she was. A mermaid. But, instead of turning back to it's normal color, it stayed blueish black. I remember when her hair turned that color...From dark brown, to blueish black...After she shifted back to her human form, we all were at a loss for words...I had never seen anything like it before it my life. It was certainly amazing..

Louise's POV:

I remember when she started to shift for the first time...Her screams as they filled the air. And then, I remember her shifting. And her wolf. White and blue. Different from any wolf I had ever seen before. It was impossible, yet it happened. I wiped tears away from my eyes as I recalled that memory of her. I remember how confused she was when we kept staring at her. Her wolf and hair...I giggled when I remembered her eating a s'more for the first time. She had no idea what one was! All she has were....seaweed cakes and kelp cakes. The thought of eating seaweed made me shudder. And not only that, plankton! The thought made me want to throw up. How did merfolk survive on that stuff?? I was currently at the mall. I was bored and thought shopping might make me feel better. It didn't. I passed by racks of dresses mermaid style. They reminded me of when we first found out Marina was a mermaid. I saw shirts with a picture of a mermaid on them. I sometimes tried to push the memories away, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't. She was unlike anyone I'd ever known. Not just because she was a mermaid. She was so different.

Leah's POV:

I closed my eyes as I sat upon mine and Ambrose's  bed, remembering the time when I was showing her around the pack. She helped me with my fox..I never got to thank her..Felicia and I are both grateful to her..I wish I could have thanked her before she left. To be honest, Marina was all anyone ever thought about lately. I doubt she's forgotten any of us. Especially Michael..I just hope that one day, somehow, she's able to return home where she belongs...We all know this was her home. Where she belonged. Even she knew that. But, it was her duty to return to the ocean and become queen..So, she did. Reluctantly.

Ambrose's POV:

I regret not being able to see Marina one last time before she left. I have so many memories of her..Like the first time I met her. It was crazy. Especially when I found out she was a mermaid. I have no idea if or when she'll return. But deep down, I think she will. She'll find a way to come back. No matter how long it may take.

Beta Henry's POV:

I haven't known Marina very long. And I most of the time, didn't get a chance to talk to her because I was busy a lot of the time. So, I never really quite got to know her. But, I know what she means to my son and his friends. Even the Luna and Young Michael's bullies. Neal has been pardoned for his crimes, but he has to do some community service. A lot of it. It means a lot to me, to know that she did everything she could to protect this pack and it's members. I find it fascinating that even though she wanted so much to stay here, she went back to the ocean, knowing it was her duty  to fulfill her role as queen of the ocean. I do wish that someday, however, somehow, she would come back..I remember when she first discovered her powers. Derrick and Leah told me when I walked in the room that day, she found out she had the power to control water. I can still feel that blast of water hitting me and knocking me to the ground..One of the few memories I have of her. I wish I had more..

Luna Marie's POV:

One memory I have of her is when I met her. I was a little confused as to why she had so much trouble walking. I guess now I know. When Marina and my son told me what she was, I was in shock. I couldn't believe my ears! My son's mate was a mermaid? A creature who was supposed to be a myth? I shook my head as I went back to the paperwork on my desk. It was kinda fun giving that girl a makeover...I wish I could do it again..Only this time, instead of normal casual clothes that don't fit, a wedding dress..

Michael's POV:

I sat in the beach watching the sunset. Wishing Marina could be here with me to see it. I reached up to my neck and touched the mark that Marina had given me when I was unconscious the first time. Though she was hurt, angry, and upset, she still marked me..I hardly noticed when tears began to fall from my eyes. I was so involved in my thoughts. I smiled as I remembered when I marked her. Oh the joy we felt...I remembered feeling what she was feeling at that moment..It was an amazing moment..I couldn't help myself. I just broke down crying right there in the beach. I didn't care who saw me. I didn't care if people would think I was weak. I'm going to become Alpha very soon..She'll always be the queen of my heart...My Marina...My water lily...
