Silence
It was something still fairly new to him.
So strange.
Both peaceful and frightening.
Normally he'd hear the sounds of terrified screams, desperate pleas, pained groans, hushed whispers or frantic footsteps.
For what felt like an eternity, he believed this, this tranquility would never become possible.
True simplistic serendipity he once believed he would never get to experience, even under the best or worst of circumstances. Speaking of which...
Black with a rapidly fading tint of gold, pie cut eyes locked with darkened ones. An unsaid silent challenge held between them.
Two smiles, one that hid millions of lies, the other, malicious and ready to kill at the drop of hat.
To think he, no they all have come so far and this was the outcome no one, not even Wally could predict.
